Customer Review: Not what I expected

I was given this as a gift for my son and I was excited when I found out it was a Melissa & Doug product but unfortunately, it was NOT a wood puzzle, unless you count cardboard as wood.
The image is gorgeous and the pieces are huge and easy for kids to handle and hard for them to lose but unfortunately, my two year old figured out how to peel them apart in less than a week. The edges also bend easily making it hard for a young child to put the pieces in place properly.
This is a beautiful puzzle but not a durable one.

Another great puzzle by Melissa & Doug. These pieces are made of heavy-weight cardboard so they easily snap together on a carpeted floor and the pieces don't bend. We also have the "Farm Friends" puzzle which we've had for over two years and my 4 yr old daughter still loves to play with it. The pieces still look brand new even when its on the floor and she steps on it (and none of the pieces have that back layer of cardboard loose). The puzzle is made of the same material so I'm confident that in another few years the pieces will remain intact.Customer Review: Attractive

It is large colorful floor puzzle attracts everyone from 2 y.o. It is challenging enough for 5 - 7 y.o. kids so they still have fun themselves while they are entertaining their younger siblings. At the same time the pieces are large and even 3-4 year old can figure them out. It has many pieces so 2-3 kids can work on different parts of the puzzle at the same time. And it is big & beautiful when it is finished - what an accomplishment!!! My last couple of Melissa and Doug purchases had made me nervous, but this puzzle reminded me why I love the company. The pieces are large and substantial in your hand. The box has much more weight to it than you would expect for a puzzle this size. And the box is durably made to not break apart easily so you can actually STORE the pieces in it without the use of scotch tape.
The theme is beautifully colored and interesting and appeals to both genders. A great addition to our puzzle cabinet.

This is a great buy. My daughter is almost 4 and she loves this puzzle, and the other 3 Melissa and Doug puzzles that she has as well. Very durable and excellent price. It's also a great picture to be made into a puzzle for kids because it's pretty easy to link up the pieces with which area of the picture they go to because there isn't much open space and not a whole lot of repetitive colors. Definitely recommend buying this one.
