Got this because it was on sale. My toddler loves fish and fish tanks (loves our fish tank DVD LOL!!!) It's a nice bright print. Pieces are about 4-5 inches square (with puzzle connector edges of course). he's just 14 months so it was a "for the future" purchase. The pices are just laminated corrugate - similar to the hard pages books for toddlers, so they're apt to get eaten if the child is too young. The pieces are about 2-3 times as thick as a regular puzzle piece, and seem to be more dense as well, so should stand up once he's two or so (or maybe they only get crushed worse as he'll be bigger!). All in all, a very nice puzzle. We're looking forward to when he can use it.Customer Review: Really Fun Puzzle!

I bought this for my 4-year old grandson. This was really only the second puzzle he put together. He has thoroughly enjoyed the puzzle. The colors are fantastic! He loves giving names to the different underwater fish. We put it together in his small bedroom, so on the floor was the only choice. The puzzle is very durable and is withstanding him walking on it. We were both so pleased that we ordered another Melissa & Doug puzzle (planets). My only disappointment was that I could not pick it up and hold it for viewing like smaller jigsaw puzzles. My two grandsons, ages 5 & 8, love this puzzle. It's 2 feet x 3 feet when completed and has extra large, colorful pieces. Of course the size of each piece varies a little, but the approximate size of one piece 5 inches by 6 inches. The pieces lock together well and don't come apart when bumped. They are also thick so they don't bend easily. The kids were so surprised by the size of the pieces when they first saw them and how big the finished puzzle was going to be that they couldn't wait to get started putting it together. I would definitely recommend this item.

Unlike small table-top puzzles, this one is large enough for a group of little ones to work on together. We often have 2 to 4 kiddos crawling around the floor working on this puzzle. Each piece is sturdy enough that a small tyke can sit on it (on carpet) and not bend it. Also, the colors are just as vivid as they look on my computer screen. Quite lovely. The kiddos get so excited at the sheer size of these puzzles that we have several of them, some several years old and still in good shape. Your results may vary, but we've found them to be very worthwhile investments.Customer Review: Fun Fish puzzle

My 2 year old son is a big fan of fish and the sea. This puzzle was his birthday gift. He still needs assistance putting it together but he absolutely loves the imagery. I've taught him the names of different fish which he amazingly committed to memory in very little time. He now recites the names of the fish while I put together the puzzle. I think Melissa and Doug would've been well served actually including an insert that identifies all the species (there are quite a few of them). The puzzle pieces are nice and large so there's no worry of choking.
