Customer Review: Plastic Carrying Case Seems Dangerous

We bought this for our toddler son, who immediately dumped the toys out and put the clear, flexible plastic carrying case over his face and head. I'm concerned that the toolbox could present a suffocation hazard to babies and small toddlers who may not be strong or coordinated enough to remove the case from their faces. The clear plastic is attractive and fun for babies to look through and the toolbox is just the right size to cover their faces completely.
I am a big fan of Melissa & Doug's products, but have noticed that they use this soft plastic material throughout the soft toy line that is marketed to babies and toddlers. We also have Monster Bowling, which has a similar case, but it is bigger and fits over my son's entire head. It can also be zipped closed, the prospect of which I find very frightening. It would be much safer if they designed the carrying cases out of fabric or mesh.
