I originally ordered two of these mailboxes and one worked properly, the other did not. It had two problems: the key was too loose and easily slipped out of the opening, making it difficult for a child to open the door using the key. The other problem had to do with the Velcro on the "stamps" coming unglued on several stamps. I returned the faulty mailbox and the one we received in return had too tight of a key opening. That mailbox was also returned and the third one we received had the loose keyhole/key problem. I think it is a design flaw in the keyhole or key itself. One of the original two happened to be just right. I chose to not return the third mailbox and just make due with the fault. Amazon has been wonderful about honoring the product and I appreciate all the follow-up that has been done. Melissa & Doug products are usually top rate so this was an unexpected and, I'm sure, a rare incidence.
