This puzzle is a favorite with my grandson (5 years old) He got it as a gift at 4 years old and can put it together himself. The colors are great, he liked it so much I purchased the dinosaur and underwater floor puzzles for him for Christmas. They are a toy that keeps being used! We got this puzzle for our three year old daughter's birthday. She LOVES it! It is challenging enough that she will enjoy it for some time to come. The pieces are very sturdy. We have had so much fun with this and it is easy to put together. The downside is that the pieces all fit eachother whether they go together or not...so it's really for kids 3 and up OR kids who have a good sense of what it means to put together a puzzle. My children have put this together several times... My son who just turned three LOVES this puzzle and has put it together several times by himself. He jumps from each planet and says their names. We own several Melissa and Doug jumbo puzzles and my 4 yr old girls love them. They have been putting them together since they were 3 yrs old. I love the size and sterdiness of the pieces. We really enjoy doing these puzzles as a family.
