My 6 year old loves this puzzle. The only slight issue we have is if you don't layer the puzzle pieces in the box just so it is hard to close the box. This happens because the peices are so nice and thick....which is great. I only had to show my son once to slow down and put the pieces away slowly for him to get it. Other than that tiny hiccup it has been an everyday toy for my son for the past 2 months. I also found the puzzle at a discount chain (rhymes with floss) for half off so be on the look out.Customer Review: Sturdy and Fun

My 3 1/2 year old daughter loves this puzzle. It is very sturdy and can even be put together pretty well on a carpeted floor. the only thing I have noticed is that the picture on the box is ever so slightly different than the puzzle. It's probably something only I would recognize, but the box shows Mars partially covered by the moon, but in the actual puzzle it is not (it could have been the other way around too). Not a big deal, just something I noticed helping my daughter put it together the first time.Customer Review: Great Beginner Puzzle for Toddler

I bought this puzzle for my 2 year old since he has already mastered a small 24 pieces puzzle. The pieces are big, colorful and sturdy so it is very easy for him to handle. He doesn't get bored with it and he is very proud every time he completes it. This helps him with recognition, problem solving and motor skills. I own the Rainforest (he didn't really like the scary looking animals), Under the Sea and the USA map puzzles. I bought this for my 4 1/2 year old son who absolutely loves the planets. He is able to put it together himself and it is challenging enough to keep him busy for a while. I liked it so much that we bought another one as a gift for the 5 year old next door who is now beginning to take an interest in the planets. The pieces are thicker than a regular puzzle so it is a bit more durable than a regular puzzle. I would definitely buy more Melissa & Doug floor puzzles.Customer Review: educational

My girls were so excited to open this at Christmas time. They were excited to recognize earth. As they put the puzzle together they were kneeling on the pieces trying to get the pieces where they need to go. The puzzle seems to be very strong where kneeling on them won't hurt them. The colors on the puzzle are sharp. I was very impressed. I think this puzzle is a good way to get your kids to know what planets there are and what they look like.
