We love Melissa and Doug products. I highly recommend them. The only failing is that our dogs like to put the puzzle pieces in their mouth, resulting in many of the pieces being destroyed.
Aside from that, the puzzles are both fun and educational. We like that Melissa and Doug products are simple and without bells, buzzers, or whistles.

my 2 y.o. managed to work this puzzle right out of the box, so it doesn't provide a long stretch of play, but still finds it interesting and it's great to practice that eye/brain coordination. it's built well so it should last a while. we lost the rectangle, but it should be easy enough for my BIL to whip up another one in his wood shop.Customer Review: jury is still out

Got this for a 16-month old girl. she played with it over the course of a few days and it's been sitting in the corner since. I'm hopeful she'll pick it back up randomly like she does with many toys. She quickly picked up on which shapes go where, but her dexterity isn't always good enough to "lock" the pieces into place.Customer Review: Great product

I ordered this to use with a student that has severe special needs. He is legally blind, and has some fine motor difficulties. I am happy to report that he is able to effectively pick up the pieces and put them into the correct spots with minimal assistance. My son loves Melissa and Doug chunky puzzles and this one was definitely another hit! The pieces are chunky, so they are easy for little hands to hold and place in the proper space. The colors are bright and the pieces are durable. This puzzle really helped him to learn his basic shapes and colors.
