My 18 month old daughter loves this puzzle. When I pull her out of the crib in the mornings, it is one of the first things she goes for. The puzzle shape/size is great for her chubby little fingers, big enough that I don't have to worry about her choking on them, and quite durable. Along with teaching shapes, I can also teach her about colors and I love to watch her match up the puzzle piece to the correct shape. Great value and I think would also make a great gift!Customer Review: Best investment ever

Both my boys have loved this puzzle to pieces. I bought it when my older son was just over a year old and he spent hours learning each shape and color and fitting it into the puzzle. Everntually I packed it away... and brought it out when my younger son started to show an interest in shapes. He loves it, too! I have to search the house for the pieces because he loves to carry them around. This is the best money I have spent on any toy to date.Customer Review: Good, but cheaply done

Great concept, but I was disappointed to find that the shapes are plain wood with colored paper on just the front, rather than painted wood all the way around. One or two mouthings and the paper started wearing off within the first day! I generally really like M&D products, so was sorry this one wasn't more durable. I'll probably only buy these in stores in the future where I can examine the quality more easily before I buy.Customer Review: Shape puzzle for toddlers

Although we have other Melissa and Doug puzzles, this is a favorite. For some reason, the simple shapes and colors hold the interest of my 20 month old grandson. He stacks the shapes, and often matches things perfectly. Of course, if Grandma is watching, he tries putting it in the wrong spot, looks and me and I have to say no. When he puts it in the right place, we have to clap and cheer. Love this toy!Customer Review: my son loves learning his shapes!

My 18 month old loves playing with this puzzle! He already knows his shapes. This is a great learning toy. He also loves to throw the pieces around, so they do get a little banged up around the edges, but overall very sturdy. I'm also glad this toy is non-toxic, because sometimes he uses the shapes as a teether! I would definitely recommend this puzzle to another parent looking to teach their child.
