Toys and Games Reviews of Melissa & Doug Pasture PalsCustomer Review: Pasture Pals a dissapointment Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased the pasture pals for my daughter thinking that they would be solid plastic toys because of the price. Upon receiving the toys I discovered that they are really hollow white plastic horses covered badly by a fuzzy cloth to resemble fir, and it falls off quite easily. I now have thrown many of them away as their manes fall off and their fur peals back to expose the white plastic beneath. I've only had the horses for a couple weeks. I'm very dissapointed.
Customer Review: Disappointed in the quality Summary: 2 Stars
My daughter received these horses as a Christmas gift. We are huge fans of Melissa & Doug, so we were excited to get them. My daughter (4) is happy, but they are cheaply made. I was under the impression that they were solid and sturdy, but they are hollow and made out of plastic. I purchased a set of 3 horses for my daughter at the $1 store and these look exactly like them, except these were much more expensive. They are fun for kids, but definitely WAY overpriced.
Customer Review: Cheap Entertainment Summary: 4 Stars
My 3-year-old and 4-year-old just LOVE these horses! They are the perfect size for them and they have played with them endlessly since we got them several months ago. Are they the most durable and "realistic" toy horses out there? Heck no! But they gave us a large variety of horses at a very low price -- so it was perfect for us. If your child is a horse aficionado, this is probably not the set for you. But it is a great "starter set".
Customer Review: "This is a very fun set," Summary: 5 Stars
Here is what my 6-year-old daughter says about this set:
"All the horses are flocked. The colors are beautiful. You can play lots of games with them. I like to play horse rescue games. All the compartments have pictures in the background."
I'll add that this set has absolutely enchanted her, to the point where she doesn't play with her larger-sized horses any more. That may change, but this toy is a winner.
Customer Review: Not well made Summary: 2 Stars
My daughter was 4 when I bought these horses. They are a cheaply constructed hollow thin plastic that is not difficult to crush, as she stepped on one and found out. She played with them relatively gently, not pulling or picking at them, but still the fur came off easily and continued to peel away, though we tried to glue it back, it wouldn't adhere to the slick plastic. The manes and tails eventually came out too.
