Customer Review: Cute toy, but frustrated with box

As with many (if not all M&D toys) the box doesn't have a lid. I can get over that cause their stuff is well made and educationally valuable. But the part of the box meant for the laces is too small and some of the shapes only fit if you turn them just the right way. Kind of frustrating but still a fun time with cute animals and a great fine motor activity.Customer Review: Kind of Difficult to Use

My 4-year-old has trouble lacing these. It is hard because the holes are not always in a straight line so the shape of the animals will look right. She misses holes all the time and can't figure out which hole comes next. These are very well-made toys and a good educational tool, but I recommend the lacing shapes instead for younger kids.Customer Review: Good Toy for Little Hands

Santa brought these sewing cards for my 3 year old boy. When he plays with these cards, he concentrates so hard. It's a great toy that your child can manipulate with no batteries and no noise. Kids today are too "plugged in". This is old fashioned fun that never goes out of style. You can never go wrong with Melissa and Doug.Customer Review: lacing animals

My two year old son loves getting these out and working the lace through the holes. He will from time to time take a break from sewing and play with the animals for a while. I bought this for my niece because I remembered having something similar as a child that I enjoyed. What a hit! She sat quietly for hours with this toy, much to the delight of her Mother and Grandparents. I'm glad I resisted getting the obnoxious toy with lots of sounds that eats batteries like crazy.
