Toys and Games Reviews of Melissa & Doug Food GroupsCustomer Review: Paint Comes Off Easily Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this food set thinking the wooden version would be more durable, safer, etc... than the plastic food. However, the paint chips off in large pieces every time it is dropped. I don't feel that it is safe because my son gets paint chips on his hands, could eat them, and is tempted to peel off more paint from the toys as they chip. They look great initially, but I would not recommend them.
Customer Review: Wonderful Summary: 5 Stars
My 4-years old son absolutely loves this set and plays with it all the time. It is one of his favorites. He uses the "food" for cooking or for selling in his little grocery store, as well as carries it around in his backpack all the time. Considering its extensive use over the past few months, I have noticed only minor chipping, so I would say it is quite durable. Highly recommended.
Customer Review: Realistic and durable Summary: 5 Stars
The food is realistic and my son has a lot of fun cooking things up, the little wooden bins are great for storing the food and are very durable. The only thing to watch out for is that some of the fruit is made from solid wood and if thrown could be dangerous to anyone in its path. Overall great quality product my son has enjoyed playing with this much more then the plastic food.
Customer Review: Cute food Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this food set after seeing it at a friends house to go with our new kidcraft kitchen. I really like it. So do the kids. The only one I really don't understand is the orange. It just looks like an orange ball. It would be nice if it had a little dimple or a green stem painted on it. Like another reviewer my kid just likes to throw it like a ball. We took that one away.
Customer Review: great toy! Summary: 5 Stars
my daughter really liked this one. (if you've seen my review of other toys, you can see there're many others that she doesn't like). she can play with it for 1 hour on her own, which is quite rare as she usually needs some adults attention. btw she's 2.5-year-old. putting the toys back into the 4 wooden crates is not easy and so she always puts them back to one 'lunch bag'.
