The Melissa and Doug food group set was a big hit with my two year old niece this Christmas. She plays with the food regularly at her kitchen and even loves to use the mini wooden crates in her pretending. I definitely think the look of the wood food is so much nicer than a lot of the plastic options out there.Customer Review: Sturdy toy but a little too hard

This toy is a great educational toy, but because it is made of wood it can be a danger to toddlers who are still into throwing things around and biting things. Some of the pieces could have been better made to look more like the object........the tomato, orange and egg for example just look like coloured shapes.Customer Review: Three for Three!

This was the third Melissa and Doug product I bought at this time and I think it's great. My little two year old was telling me all day what the different foods were. So it's educational for one learning to talk! It will be very durable because it's made of wood and it has all the right things in it. Great set!Customer Review: Durable!

I decided to purchase this wooden food group set after reading several of it's reviews. I was not disappointed! They are sturdy, durable, brightly colored, small enough for little hands, and stand up to lots of toddler abuse. I love Melissa & Doug products and will definitely purchase them again in the future.Customer Review: Small and Not Realistic

Just got it today and am unimpressed with how small and obviously fake the play food is. The pieces are unrealistically small. Doesn't come close to the other food that Melissa & Doug makes. Pretty disappointed. The fish is so small that I think it should have been thrown back into the river.
