My son got this puzzle when he was 11 months old. At first he just loved taking the animals out and looking at them. Now he is 12 months and tries to put them back in. He loves playing with this toy. It seems very durable since he drops the pieces all the time. It is good for teaching animal names and also the same pictures are underneath each animal so it makes it a little easier for the baby to figure out the orientation. Great product! I will definitely purchase more similar puzzles by this company for him.Customer Review: Great Puzzle

This puzzle is very cute. I would have to disagree with the warning about choking hazard though, these puzzle pieces are very large and would not be able to be swallowed. I also would recommend this product for children under 3. Our son has had it for about 8 months now and he loves it. The puzzle pieces are so wide that each piece can stand on end, so he plays with them in the windowsill. The paint has chipped off here and there but he is very rough with them, and I sometimes wonder if the dog got to them!Customer Review: Lions & Tigers & Tears, oh my!

I was so excited to get this puzzle for my little ones. Unfortunately, the item description is misleading. The puzzle looks nice (before the kids get to it) and the chunky pieces were a perfect size! However, this puzzle is NOT hand painted. The puzzle pieces are just faced with a sticker, that easily comes off (in pieces!). That is not the quality I was expecting, especially from Melissa and Doug. I've had the puzzle for 2 months now, and 2 or 3 of the pieces have the stickers mostly peeled off.Customer Review: Cheap in price and quality

This looks nice and I was exited when it arrived. However, the pieces look like particle board and the animal stickers come off too easily. It's almost like the picture just melts off. Compared to other toys, this puzzle just doesn't hold up to regular use by a toddler. My daughter is not overly hard on her toys. All my Plan Toys still look great, sadly, not Melissa and Doug. I feel like I should defend this puzzle. Several reviews are stating the puzzle only has stickers on top of the pieces. The pieces on my children's puzzle are definitely painted and are extremely durable. It has gone through two children and looks brand new. It has always been one of their favorite puzzles and since the pieces are chunky, they can also be stood up to play with. We love it!
