I purchased this toy for my 3 yrs old grand-daughter. She loves puzzles. The magnetic board is great. It comes with a generous assortment of shapes so the kids can creat thier own designes.They develop manual dexterity and thier sense of pride once they are finished.Can't go wrong with Melissa and Doug toys they are all solide and well made.Customer Review: not as durable as I expected.

Megnets are very light it is easy to move they don't stay on strongly. the paper whole set is not made as strong and durable as I thought they should for a three years old......not the best ideas for cars since megnetic pieces do not stay on well and it will fall in your car. I just got this for my kids, age 4 and 2, and they love it. It is very helpful that they are magnets, they don't move around as much so the kids don't get as frustrated. The carrying case is great to keep everything together. Nice that they're magnetic but it's made with a colored piece of paper glued on top of a shape so they're starting to peel. Also, the shapes aren't as skinny as they're really supposed to be so you cannot create all of the patterns they give you. DON'T BUY....invest in the regular pattern blocks!
