Customer Review: Best toy we've ever bought!

I purchased this 6 months ago for around (...) with the free shipping and it has turned out to be an incredible investment. Even if you can't get that price for it, I'd pay more cause it's totally worth it! My 3 year old is obsessed with everything disney princess and this is the perfect castle for all of our little figurines. She has played with this everyday for 6 months! I eventually packed up her doll house a Little People Castle because this took all of her attention. We have it on a train table with all her little characters in the drawers underneath. The My Little Ponies usually stay in the stable area, Bambi and Thumper play on the lawn and the princesses and princes are always getting ready for balls and dancing together in the castle : ) Even my 18 months old son loves to play with this and push his cars around the castle.
(Just a note, we ordered the castle furniture that goes with this, and I don't think I would recommend that addition. The castle is great on it's own - it allows them a space to play with their other toys and be creative. The furniture is a little big for the castle and most of our dolls and figurines can't fit in any other the seats or on the bed so it's kinda been a waste for us)
Overall, a great toy! Incredible value! Worth every penny!

I bought this for my[...][grand daughter. She has 2 sisters age 4 and 8. They have had in the past a plastic (Junk) Barbie type ($150.00)doll house that did not captivate their attention nor stand up to normal wear and tear. My grand daughter has been talking about a "Real" doll house "You know Grandma, one made from wood. One that is pretty and we can make believe with" I've been shopping dollhouses for a month! What I have found out is that they can be terribly expensive, cheaply made or so intricate that they are really not appropriate for play. I ordered this one for this Christmas. Though the children have not played with it yet, my adult children (All parents now themselves) have tried it out and give glowing reviews. It is very well made, needed no assembly, is the right size for small hands, doesn't take up half the house and isn't plastered with fashion models! I also ordered the Castle dolls and they are adorable and equally well made. The adult response was so possitive that I have since ordered the other castle (Not pink) for my four year old grandson.(With the castle figurines as well) I am now searching the dollar stores for a couple of "Scary" dragons to go with them. With the sales this Christmas and so many places offering free shipping, this is truly a bargin!Customer Review: Your Little Girl Will Love It!

This wooden folding castle is well made and compact, and a little girl's dream come true. I came upon it while searching for something else on Amazon. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Amazon sold it for about $40 less than our local toy retailer. As with the other reviewers, I purchased the Disney Princess dolls that stand about 4" tall. It almost became a mission for me to obtain all the princesses, too. Do not purchase the 10" dolls that are recommended by Amazon. Obviously, they will be too tall to use in the castle. The castle is great for siblings and/or play mates, too, because it opens to be about 3'. My daughters love it! I only wish that Melissa & Doug made wooden furniture to use inside the castle. I ended up purchasing a miniature dining room set from Pottery Barn Kids (from the Westport doll furniture collection) so our princesses would have chairs. I eventually plan to browse some hobby shops to see what I can find. I would suggest going to craft stores such as Michael's if you're interested in finding miniature medieval characters to add to your castle. The castle is great for little hands, and since the castle folds compactly, we simply store all the Disney princesses and their wardrobe inside of the many rooms of the castle. The castle has provided hours upon hours of enjoyment. My girls are 3 and 5, and use their imagination and play Princesses all of the time (there is even a dungeon, with sliding doors, for their evil dragon). I am so impressed with the quality of this castle and all of the little rooms and alcoves - it fits the Disney Princesses (the Polly Pocket type) perfectly. I purchased some furniture by Fisher Price - "Loving Family" and it is just the right size for furnishing the rooms. I looked at so many plastic castles, but am so glad we purchased this one instead. It's so important for children to develop creativity and use their imaginations and this castle is just great for creative play, plus you can't go wrong the durability and quality that Melissa and Doug use to make toys - did I mention it is absolutely adorable! When they get to the Barbie stage I'm afraid the rooms in this castle might be too small, but I plan on keeping it for them to pass down to their children someday. This is an outstanding toy for little girls who love the little Disney Princesses, and for parents who are looking for a durable toy that fosters imaginative growth.Customer Review: Best Toy I've Ever Bought!

I bought this castle as a Christmas present for my (almost) 4 year old daughter. This is most definately the best toy I've ever purchased! Since she opened it that Christmas morning, she has played with it every single day. It is extremely well constructed, made out of beautiful sturdy wood. I find that I like it better because it promotes imaginative play and isn't annoying like those other toys that make loud noises and flash like crazy. It is terribly simple to put together as well - the castle is basically already constructed, except for the two towards at the very top and the half arch like bridge that connects them together.
I must say that I did not, however, purchase any of the furniture items or the dolls that are supposively used for this castle. Instead, I bought the plastic figurine sets made by Disney. They are the perfect size to play in the castle. I recommend buying those as well if your little girl, like mine, believes that she is a missing Disney princess.
To get to the point, this is a fabulous, sturdy toy. I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks Melissa and Doug!
