My 3-year old loves this. We "eat" birthday cake almost everyday. It is very durable, easy to use, and encourages imagination. It comes in a wooden box hat we use to store it in when not in use and it has a wooden "plate" it sits on so it is easy for my child to "cook and serve" the cake. The interchangeable candle and cake toppings are nice and add variety so people can order what they want and my 3 year old will create the perfect piece! This is tons of fun and I would absolutely buy it again (and I have - as gifts!).Customer Review: Melissa & doug birthday party cake

Another Meliisa and doug hit.
It is made of wood and has velcro to stick slices and candles etc together.
They have been in and out of my daughter mouth and are still here to tell the tale so it is well made.
Brought for my daughter's 2nd birthday she loves serving slices of cake at her tea parties.
We also use it for counting how many slices and candles will be good when we learn about fractions.
Aswell pretend time which is great.
So if you want is a great learning tool too!

My daughter loves this cake! It is very cute and has quite a bit to do with it! It has the spatula for serving, and lots of toppings and candles to be added. Very good for young children who are learning about birthday parties and singing the birthday song. Only disappointment is that our cake arrived with paint chips which I didn't realize until it was out of the box and continues to chip easily. This is very unfortunate because I like the toy other than that. I will not buy more Melissa & Doug toys.Customer Review: Happy Girl!

We gave this to our daughter for her second birthday. She plays with it almost every day and loves it. We sing "Happy Birthday" to family members, dolls and animals regularly. She loves decorating the cake, "cutting" the slices and serving to everyone. The cake fits perfectly in the toy kitchen oven, so is frequently in the baking stage. She has also pretended the cake is a pizza when she wants. I would definitely recommend this toy, it has provided a lot of fun to our 2 year old!Customer Review: Love It!

My 2 year old got this for Christmas last year and has loved it ever since. She loves to bring people slices of cake and change out the toppings. I think it's a great toy and will be getting some of the similar ones, like the pizza, that this company makes.
The only small complaint I have is that the box it comes in dosen't really work for storage because it lacks a top. I haven't found a convenient way to store this toy without all the pieces winding up scattered.
