Once again, Amazon comes through for me. My son was having a "block party" theme for his second birthday and my wife wanted him to have more blocks. I found these on Amazon.com for an excellent price and even with the free super saver shipping, I got them before the end of the week!
The blocks themselves are sturdy and well finished. The wooden box is a nice touch, but it takes some work to fit the blocks back in after dumping them out. The blocks have enough weight that it really hurts when my son throws them at me. :) I enjoy building with the blocks as much as he does, so all around it was a great buy.

I bought these for Christmas for my 3 nephews, ages 2-6. They all played very nicely together with these blocks for hours, building 'roadways' to play with their cars, and all sorts of things. Out of all the Christmas presents they received, these blocks seemed to be the ones they kept coming back to, where they could express their creativity. I got a steal from Amazon with free shipping. I'll probably buy more to keep at my house for when they visit. Even the adults wanted to join in on the construction!
The pieces were solid wood, sanded nicely. NO paints or varnishes, so no worries about toxins. Very high quality.

We bought these for our 21 month old son this year for Christmas and it was certainly the favorite toy of the season. He will regulary take various family members by the hand and say: Play Blocks? He loves to build up little structures and then watch them fall. Also this is the best set of blocks that we found on the market. Natural Finish = No Paint = No worrying about Lead. The blocks are very smooth which means no splinters and all the edges are rounded which is also nice for the little ones. All in all, this was a great purchase and we would certainly suggest them to other parents.Customer Review: Great for Imaginative Play

There are so many toys on the market these days but these building blocks captured my nephew's imagination and has kept him busy for hours at a time. Instead of one present - it is many! By that I mean one day he builds a parking garage and parks his cars in it, another day he builds a road with bridges - or he might build an airport - or the tallest building he can build - so many fun activities. And when he's done playing for the day, he puts the 'puzzle' away in the box working out how all the blocks can fit in. ...at a classic price...These blocks are large and chunky...Also, they're quite smooth with no rough surfaces or edges...A definite must for those little creative minds because you really never know what the blocks are going to end up becoming...Sometimes, you'll get a building...Next time, you might get a spaceship or a hot dog...They keep my kids busy for longer than other toys which are more specific in nature...I also bought the 100 pc. color version, which has smaller pieces, to compliment this set...All in all, a quality toy at a reasonable price that won't end up in the garbage.
