Toys and Games Reviews of Large Shapes Jumbo KnobsCustomer Review: The best toddler puzzle ever Summary: 5 StarsI have bought dozens of puzzles but none have captured the attention of my toddler the way this one has. It is durable and easy to see, encourages color and shape recognition as well as naming of certain objects. This is an outstanding puzzle for toddlers.
Customer Review: Best puzzle we have... Summary: 5 StarsMy 16 month old loves puzzles. She has about 10 of them, but this one is her favorite and mine too. For her, the knobs are easy to grab, making the pieces simple to maneuver. Plus, no matter which way she holds a piece, it will fit into its own slot, giving her a sense of accomplishment each time she plays with the puzzle. What do I like about it? The pieces are made of sturdy wood that hold up to every sort test my daughter puts them through. With flying colors, this puzzle has passed the saliva test, the banging on the table and wall test, the dropping from 2 1/2 feet (my daughter's height) to the concrete floor test, the being stepped on test, as well as numerous others. My daughter has had this puzzle since she turned 1 and it just gets better with age.
Customer Review: Puzzles are FUN! And this is a quality puzzle! Summary: 5 StarsI look for toys that are fun, fairly quiet, and easy to play. I look for toys that will foster independance and exploration of the world, if it is educational then so much the better. I want sturdy toys that will put up with a lot of play. This puzzle fits all of those lists. Here is the thing- puzzles develop eye and hand coordination which is good for pre reading skills. This one makes it easy for little clumsy fingers to hold the pieces and place them where they go. Puzzles are good for teaching problem solving skills; if it doesn't fit here, will it fit there or if I turn it this way? Even after you think your child has mastered it, you child will continue to play with the puzzle. To make it harder, you might encourage your child to dump out three or four puzzles at the same time and complete them all. Puzzles are a lot of fun. This one is a great introduction for little children to the joy of puzzles and problem solving.
Customer Review: Great puzzle for little ones getting to know shapes Summary: 4 StarsThe basic shapes on this are great. My son has really gotten into this puzzle. From a parental standpoint I have a couple of issues. First, the paper coating on the pieces starting peeling the first time he played with it. Second, the picutes underneath are a bit of a stretch. Overall it's the best shape puzzle we've come across, but it could use some work.
Customer Review: Very durable and educational Summary: 5 StarsThis is a wonderful puzzle that is both fun and educational. The puzzle is made of thick, quality plywood and very durable. It has taken quite a bit of abuse from my 19 mo. old daughter. She tries to carry it from room to room and like most toddlers, thinks that if she presses the peices in each slot hard enough, it will eventually fit, hehe. Despite this abuse it has held up nicely. The colors have not faded and the puzzles pieces are big and easy for small hands to handle. The large knobs on each piece are especially nice for small hands. There are also pictures of similarly shaped objects beneath each shape to help reinforce it. Overall, a great toy that I think will withstand most any childs daily play.
