My eleven year old daughter has thoroughly enjoyed this toy. She has followed the directions easily with minimal help and has come up with her own design ideas as well. My son is not a huge toy guy. He barely plays with any. He prefers video games or board games...something very interactive with other people. But this is the only toy he continues to play with after a year of having it. Initial setup took some time, but in the end it was a "user familiar" issue. He could not have gotten started on his own at 7 years old. But after a time or two he was off on his own and is still really enjoying it.Customer Review: Fun for younger ages with the ability for creativity with older ones

This is a fun toy. I bought it for my four year old. He's too young to build it alone, but definately old enough to play with it. Then we built it with older cousins and they had a BLAST! When they are old enough they can try to design their own coaster, thus the educational value.
The only problem is that the pieces don't click in super tight so they pop out if you push to hard on it. A grown up needs to be standing by.

Ordered this for our 9 and 10 year old cousins -they wanted it and loved it! I've seen the toy used before - can build many different courses for the ball - great for educational value and kids that like to build things will love it. My daughter also enjoyed it but was a bit too young at the time - needed help. From what I could tell, they toy was very durable once built. I bought this toy for my nephew when it was 70% off, so it only cost me $30. My nephew is 5 and he wasnt really able to put this together as my brother and I thought. After awhile of trial and error and the loss of one of the marbles my brother and husband were able to finish it and my nephew could play with it. The down side that we found was that it was not very stable. The ball going through the course could pull the peieces away from each other causing it not to work. If my nephew barely touched it it would pull the peieces apart. I still think it was a fun toy for him, but I am very glad I didn't pay the full price. My nephew liked it but it wasn't what we all thought it was going to be.
