Customer Review: The worst Kubricks to date?
Summary: 2 Stars
First, for those who haven't been introduced for the world of Kubricks, they're usually very cool and cute little figures similar to Lego people. They're a little bigger than those, but much more detailed. Kubricks tend to come in blind boxes, where you get a box with a random figure inside. It's a fun line and they're huge in Japan and with collectors everywhere. If you want to see good Kubricks, check out the Star Wars ones.
However, these Kubricks for Where the Wild Things Are...are just plain ugly. They look exactly as they do in the stock picture, which isn't good at all. Every single one of them looks like they have Down's Syndrome, or just took a bunch of sleeping pills. Douglas got it the worst when it comes to the design category, and looks like a mutated chicken more than anything. The paint on these guys is all wrong too. I'm being very generous with my rating because, yes, you -can- have fun playing with these since they're WTWTA figures, and just as durable as any other Kubrick, but they're just so ugly! I highly recommend getting a different kind of Kubrick for a better first impression if you haven't gotten any before, because these will probably make you hate the series.
There's also a chance of getting a rare Bearbrick figure, and you could always sell that for a pretty penny, but again, I can't recommend buying these at all unless you're the hardest of hardcore Wild Things collectors.
Medicom really screwed up with this license- the VCDs were overpriced and cheaply made, and these Kubricks aren't any better. Stick with the McFarlane figures if you need some Wild Things!
