Customer Review: Great Figure, But Needs Some Improvement

The Ash Army Of Darkness action figure in Todd McFarlane's best toy line ever, Movie Maniacs, is an awesome toy. I always wanted an Ash figure. Being a BIG AOD fan. I prayed that Todd could get the license. I prayed that he would make it soon. Now he has! I love this toy. Although he's very cool and arguably the coolest MM 3 maniac, he could've used some improvement. First off, while the chainsaw and gauntlet glove are great accessories, it sure would've been nice if he had the possessed hand from the first 2 Evil Dead films. Second, his right arm is posed in a silly way and he looks extremely silly with the chainsaw on his hand. His right arm should've had better articulation, so his chainsaw attack could look menacing. And getting him to use the shotgun is a chore. I had to use some sticky tack to get the gun to fit right in his left hand. Also, the figure's likeness to Bruce Campbell could've been a bit better. He looks a little like Campbell, but more like a 17-year old Bruce than an adult. Ash could've also has more of the little evil Ashs', like maybe 3 more. I still like the figure a whole lot. I'm glad it was made anyway. We could've never gotten one. I just hope Todd gets the rights to do some Deaites and the Evil Ash!

The Movie Maniacs series from McFarlane Toys brings your favorite monsters, freaks and villains to life! This Series 3 Ash figure stands over 6 inches tall and comes with an official Movie Maniacs display stand.Good ... bad ... Im the guy with the gun. So speaks Ash, the swashbuckling antihero of Sam Raimis Army of Darkness, a character McFarlane Toys fans have been clamoring for.Good, bad... Ash is the guy with the gun. And--thanks to some meticulous McFarlane detailing--he's looking worse for the wear after being attacked by an army of tiny Ashes. This 7-inch figure commemorates the full-size hero of Army of Darkness, the third installment in the Evil Dead series. The figure has limited articulation (just neck, waist, and shoulders), but that's easy to forgive once you start checking out the details. The flesh wounds and ripped, bloody clothing fill out a very convincing Bruce Campbell. He even comes with a small Necronomicon, removable chainsaw, removable powered hand, and 12-gauge double-barreled Remington (a.k.a. his boom stick). But the best part may be the 1-inch Ash that's included, complete with a poking fork. The figure comes with a Movie Maniacs stand and mini movie poster. --Paul Hughes
