Toys and Games Reviews of Halo 3 Series 3 - War Chieftain Weapon ClassCustomer Review: Halo 3 Brute Cheiftian Summary: 4 Stars
This Brute Cheiftain is an awesome figure and I would recomend it to a Halo colecter, or a kid who would just like to play with it. The Cheiftain is an incrediably detailed figure. My friend who is a Halo action figure super collecter doesn't even have this figure. My friend is actuly the reason that I started my Halo collection in the first place. The Cheiftain has some pros and cons about it so I will list them.
Pros:an incrediably detailed figure, will be a great edtion to any Halo colecters colection, is fun to play with, is pretty flexible for a Halo figure, the tallest figure in the Halo 3 collection, and you would have to try pretty hard to break it.
Cons:his helmet is kind of hard to put on at first but after you put it on a few times it is eaiser, his shoulders are REALLY hard to move when you first take him out of the package but if you move them a few times they will losen up, and i haven't got his gun to fit in his hand yet.
I know on a lot of the other reports say his hands will come off very easily, but on mine his hands are really in there tight but I can still move his hands. I know that I said that I can't get his gun in his hand, but this is the first day I got it so maybe I just wasn't putting it in the propper way. I hope that you found this reveiw helpful. I also hope you would consider buying this figure.
Customer Review: War Chieftain Breaks Too Easily Summary: 1 Stars
A real world story ...
Because of an unbelievable holiday price, I purchased two of these, one as a Christmas gift for my 12 year-old son, and one for the collectible value later on.
On Christmas morning, it took less than 5 minutes for the War Chieftain's left hand to break off as my son was trying to position it. It does appear to be a movable joint. While my son is generally careful with his toys, I assumed he must have done something wrong for it to break so quickly.
In an effort to make it look like a "super repair" job, I decided to secretly substitute the extra one I bought with the broken War Chieftain. I opened the package and looked at the left hand. It appeared movable. I gently tried to position it as he had intended (so it could hold the weapon). As soon as I did, I could just tell the turn had twisted the plastic and not actually moved at the joint. With one more movement it would be just as the one my son had .... oops, too late. Yes, it had broken just as the first one had, and I did it to the second one.
This is not durable as a toy. It should only be purchased if you want to display it as a collectible with minimal handling, not actually play with it.
Customer Review: Halo 3 Brute Chieftain Summary: 4 Stars
This Brute Chieftain is a very large, detailed Halo 3 figure. His helmet is removable, and he can be posed with or without the Fuel Rod Gun. However, unlike the Halo 3 Series 3 - Elite Combat Soldier, his shoulder armor is not intentionally removable. It is difficult to pose the Chieftain with the Fuel Rod Gun, with the barrel parallel with his line of vision. Its also hard to get his left hand to touch the gun while the right hand is gripping the handle. Also, when I made the right hand grip the handle, the trigger broke off. I couldn't see a way to get the hand to grip the handle with the trigger there.
However, the detail on this toy is amazing. Although he has a lot of weight above his waist, the large feet help balance the Chieftan in many different positions.
Customer Review: NOT an Action Toy! Summary: 1 Stars
My eleven year old son purchased this toy and BOTH hands fell off with almost no pressure or movement within the first minute or two out of the box. My son used his own saved funds to purchase this. The only reason he gave it a 2-star rating on educational value was because he "learned" to read reviews on Amazon BEFORE making a decision about what to purchase instead of an impulse buy when he sees a new toy he thinks he has to have. As a Mom, I know that is a valuable lesson, along with the experience of taking it back to get a refund. I'm going to let him do the talking at the store. As someone else said, this is NOT an action toy, just, IMHO, an ugly lump of plastic to sit around on a shelf collecting dust and hoping you don't loose any parts while waiting for it to appreciate, if it ever does.
Customer Review: halo expert Summary: 4 Stars
This toy was very fun accept for the fact it was not very movable. The head can move side to side. Its arms can move up and down and its legs can just barley move back and forth. When I received it in the male I tried to twist the hands and one of them broke off. Then attempting to hold the gun with the broken hand, the trigger broke off as well. We are going to fix it with super glue as we have done with other Halo items. If you buy this item or any other brutes, don't twist the hands and be careful with the guns.
