Customer Review: Looks good, very posable, decently constructed

I bought this as a gift for my neighbor Andrew, who collects action figures.

First off, unlike in the picture, I couldn't find a way to attach the spike grenade to Chief's back. There are, however, numerous mounting points for other weapons, like the plasma rifles that come with the Elite Combat Soldier in the same series as this Master Chief.

The figure is marvelously detailed, and has plenty of movable joints. It is a little top-heavy, so if you are going to stand it up and want to keep it free of incidental damage take the time to make sure it is steady.

The glue that holds the hip portion together seemed weak to me, and within two minutes of taking it out of the box it broke on Andrew, which left the figure in five separate pieces - the top, two legs and the front and back of the hip joint. Thankfully, the leg attachment points to the hip joint are simply grooves and not rubber-band joints like on the old G.I. Joes, so a little Krazy Glue to the hip joints and some patience in putting it back together fixed the problem.

In short, this is a good display figure, but from what I have seen it won't hold up to the punishment of a child's playtime.
