Customer Review: Daughter loves it, but mom ends up dressing her!

I bought this for my daughter for her birthday and she loves it! However, there are several issues. The very first time she tried to put the bikini top on, it broke. I kind of expected this to happen at some point as it looked flimsy, but not the first time! Then a few days later, her hair started falling off! Nothing a little super glue couldn't fix, but again, not very durable. I think my biggest problem with the toy is how hard it is to get her long-sleeved tops on. Ariel's arms and hands are posed - bent at the elbows and wrists, so it takes some work to keep the hands from getting stuck in the sleeves. No way my 4-year-old can do it, and frankly, I find it a pain myself. And, since she can't do it, I spend a lot of time redressing Ariel for her. The glitter on all the outfits also wears off easily, so we have glitter all over, too. I do appreciate the bag for storage and the fact that this one doesn't have shoes (far too easy to lose)! Maybe for an older girl this would be a better toy, but while my daughter loves it, she needs help with it on a regular basis.
Oh, one more thing! I called Mattel when the hair started falling off just to see if that was supposed to happen and also to let them know I was a little disappointed at the durability of the toy and they were great to deal with - one of the best customer service experiences I've had. Without hesitation, they sent a replacement. It ended up being a different princess, but greatly appreciated!
