Customer Review: Not as good as I'd hoped.

Here are a few of the things I found frustrating about this toy:
the shoes don't stay on for 5 seconds, there were no clothes included in the set so you have to buy an extra set of accessories to go with it, ALL of the furniture falls over as soon as you touch it, the little pretend drink cups don't stand up at all nor do the bottles of sunscreen, the headphones only fit on the dolls when they're not attached to the walkman, the hammock falls apart when you put someone in it, the railings fall off too, the little escalator thing is so hard to push up and down that it knocks everything over on the whole ship when you use it, the slide is loose and wobbly, you have to remove too many things when you want to close the ship, and when you do close the whole thing up it doesn't lock securely so everything falls out when you pick it up, which is a challenge in itself, because there's no handle to pick it up with. Overall, I'd say just about everything in this set is poorly designed.
Having said all of that, my 2 year old absolutely loved it for the first couple of hours. She loved the slide, even though it's wobbly, the back packs are very cool, and she didn't mind putting the shoes back on every 5 seconds over and over again. The parasailing thing is interesting, as is the rock climbing apparatus, but they both lose their appeal after an hour of playtime. So, I pretty much shelled out 60 bucks for an hour or two of happiness. My daughter has ended up enjoying the other Polly Pockets playsets we purchased after Christmas much more than this one.
THIS IS NOT A GOOD TOY FOR A YOUNGER CHILD.
However, I think that someone a little older would probably enjoy it a little more.
My question is: Why did they change the shoes and accessories to hard plastic instead of the rubbery kind? The old kind was way, way better.
Customer Review: Polly Ship is a hit w/girls, but not with mom

My 7 year old got this for christmas yesterday-she loves it, but I was really not happy with how flimsy it is, the deck tilts when you swing it out, there was two pieces missing (the gift rack hangers and base) and an extra piece (looks like a laptop??), the waterslide falls down easily and the rails won't stay as mentioned before in other reviews.
She is enjoying it, and had I paid $29.99 for it, I'd give it 4, but I just saw the receipt (gulp) and I paid $49 for it....YIKES!! Much more pleased with some other things I got for much less money like the Dora fairytale castle. I'm easy to please, so the only reason I wrote this was to help those of you with several girls who might also be a but tougher on toys not to get this until it's well more affordable.
P.S. The puppy also finds it quite appealing too, she has already eaten several shoes....LOL!!!
Probably a must for Polly fans tho-and for those of you who had a glamour gal cruise ship in the 80's, this is fun to reminisce with....
Customer Review: Hours Upon Hours of Entertainment!

My 3 year old daughter loves Polly Pockets and received this ship for her birthday. We all love it, including my husband who just loves the Rock Climbing Wall and Harness. It is pretty easy to set up and take down. This set has a TON of little accessories but I previously bought a large rubbermaid container for all her Polly junk so clean up is pretty easy. Yes, some of the railings come off easily, but who cares, there is so much happening on the Polly ship that a few loose railings just add to the drama. My daughter's Polly's rock climb and shop for hats and drink smoothies at the cafe only after parasailing and lounging in the color changing hot tub. They also take long naps in their cool fold out beds after emailing their grandparents on their computer. I have nothing bad to say about this toy because I love to sit down and role play with my daughter and her Pollys and this ship has yet to let us down.

Customer Review: Not So Hip Cruise Ship

This was the ONLY thing my daughter asked for again and again for Christmas...I was surprised to such a huge price difference between Amazon and Wal-Mart [...] which is probably the only reason we bought it for her. The Ship is kinda flimsy, the pieces don't stay in place, the slide doesn't fit quite right into the slots for it, and the pieces that hold the elevator in place snapped almost immediately. We did buy the accessory pack that comes separately, good thing or she wouldn't have had much to play with. It's interesting to watch a 6 year old play with 3 girls and only 1 boy, even with the accessory pack.
Honestly I am not a fan of Polly Pockets to begin with, the pieces are easily lost (more so than Barbie or Bratz) and I don't like that the dreeses and shoes are made of rubber, they don't ever quite fit right. But it made my daughter very happy at Christmas, and the price was right. Thank you Amazon!
Customer Review: Would not recommend EVER

I don't recommend this toy for a number of reasons. 1) My 4 children (son included) LOVE Polly Pocket, but this ship is definitely not worth the price tag. 2) The way it folds together is wonderful for storage, but a nightmare to get opened and closed; the children can't do it themselves. 3) Many of the items continually pop out of place (ship's railings, handgliding chair, slide, knob to hold the ship closed for storage, etc). And 4) You have to remove items that snap into place to close the ship. Over time, they will no longer stay in place due to wear from constant removal (especially when they aren't very reliably secure from the start).
Honestly, my children are still thrilled with it and love it. There is just a constant call for Mom to come and open it, set it up, fix something that has popped off, fold it up, fix something that has popped off, etc etc.
