This doll was a big hit with my goddaughter. She loves the fact that it sings when you press the button on the necklace and like most little girls who love this toy will continuously press the button, which delights her but may annoy some adults. The doll was sold in 2007 so when I received the shipment the battery was dead. I was concerned because the return policy stated that I could return the item if the box had not been opened but I had to open the box to replace the battery. I called Amazon and they noted that it would be okay to open the box to replace the battery and if it turned out the doll did not function after replacing the battery, I could still proceed to return. Fortunately, as I suspected, the problem was resolved by replacing the battery.
