My son received this for Christmas and he loves it. It is 3 (or more) toys in one. He plays with the space shuttle, he plays with the alien ship, and he rolls the space shuttle on the transporter to the launch site. His grandpa was in charge of putting this one together on Christmas morning and grandpa spent a lot of time playing with it. And my husband will suggest it when my son asks him to play. And, of course, I like it too. It really lets his imagination take off. The Amazon packaging was a bonus - so nice after suffering through the standard packaging for other toys. My 4 /12 year old received this from Santa on Christmas morning. It's now mid afternoon and it's still the toy he has come back to again and again and played with the most. We have rearranged the pieces many times to make several vehicles. Now that he knows how it all comes apart and snaps together, he is creating his own vehicles. This is one cool toy that is simple enough for a 4 year old, but yet cool enough that my 11 year old is playing with it as well. I can see lots of play value with this one! I will most likely be purchasing another Mega Rig set in the line in the near future! Fabulous toy!Customer Review: More like Frustration Packaging!

The toy is great - it has so many gadgets and gizmos for kids to play with, that I don't see this one being one tossed aside once they get bored with it.
However, I thought that "frusteration free" packaging meant that it just didn't come with as many of those little "twisties" you have to undo on the back of the cardboard, which was great, but I was wrong. It came in a brown box totally unassembled and without any packaging other than the shipping box. This was a bummer since it was meant to be a Christmas gift - but we'll just try to assemble it and put it under the tree like that.

My son (just turned 6) got this for Christmas, and has been playing with it ever since. He loves to take the components apart and put them back together differently. He's been happily entertained for 3 weeks now, and there's all kinds of possibility for imaginative play. He's been exploring space, asking questions and learning. Perfect! But my favorite part was the frustration free packaging! No stupid plastic and more plastic that's hard to unpack and is a horrid wast of energy and reseources, and adds to our trash pile! This is a great toy and my son seems to like it a lot. I ordered the frustration free packaging version thinking how great it would be not to deal with all of the plastic and bindings in the traditional packaging. It was great, although there is one pitfall. As the outer box is just cardboard and the toy was packed in small plastic bags inside, it was hard for my son to tell what it was when he unwrapped the present. There really was no WOW factor upon opening. I think frustration free packaging would be greatly improved by a color sticker on the front showing the toy.
