When I was a kid, my brother and I would play with my Grandfather's Magic 8 Ball. We could sit there for hours thinking up questions to ask the ball and then laugh hysterically at the answers that popped up.
I have to admit that I'd forgotten all about the Magic 8 Ball until a recent trip to Toys 'R Us for some early Christmas shopping. While wandering up and down the aisles, I rediscovered the Magic 8 Ball! It's hard to imagine getting so excited over a toy, but I nearly jumped for joy at the sight of it! As soon as I got back to the car, I ripped the packaging open and started asking questions. My favorite answers are, of course, Yes and You Can Rely On It! Once home, I called my brother to see if he remembered sitting on Grandpa's front porch playing with the Magic 8 Ball. This turned into a great conversation about us as kids and for that alone, this ball is magical!
If you are looking for a fun toy or to bring back memories of childhood, the Magic 8 Ball just might be the answer! It was for me!

I have one of these on my office desk, along with a slinky and a Mr. Potatohead (yes, I'm a hacker geek). Everyone loves the eight ball, especially the project managers. I'm giving it five stars for education because it teaches you to be a scientist. Even without taking it apart, moderately attentive use will lead you to the realization that 50% of the answers are yeses, 25% are maybes, and 25% are nos. Thus empowered, you must solve a language problem, choosing between polar opposites like "Am I smart?" and "Am I dumb?". It's not only educational, it's interdisciplinary! And given that the eight ball's not much fun without an audience, it also teaches teamwork and laughing well with others. More devoted students of the eight ball derive serious benefits such as realizing that the eight ball is just as accurate as Tarot cards, psychic hotlines, and astrology, but much much more cost effective.

Customer Review: Lots of fun, but the answer triangle doesn't always float up to the top

What a blast from the past this has been. My 5 year old saw it in a toystore, and I ordered it from Amazon for Christmas. He is enjoying it. It is fun, sort of educational (he tries to decode the message - he is learning to read), appears to be durable and is still intact after being dropped several times.
The only negative is that quite often, the triangle or trapezoid or whatever the answer unit inside the ball is, it doesn't float up to the top to be easily readable. Instead, it sort of hovers on the edge, in between answers, but not showing clearly one side or another. Maybe it isn't sure of the answer! Maybe I should ask again!
My son doesn't seem to mind, though.
This is a great gift for someone - an executive to keep on their desk for a bit of levity when stressed over a difficult decision or for a party prize that can be used and enjoyed at the party.

Out in the big world of business, whoever can quickly make the tough decisions is seen as a leader, a visionary, someone to be taken seriously. Well, here's the tool you need to get to the top.I refer to my Executive 8-Ball daily for complex questions such as: "does this add value", "should we take it off-line", "is the person part of the solution", "should we consider Chapter 13", "do we need more diversity training", and my personal favorite "should I fire this moron".
This wonderful tool frees me from the task of making decisions, and allows me to focus on the "big picture". I recommend that anyone climbing the corporate ladder pick up several of these - in my world, they're the low-hanging fruit which have been critical enablers of success and fulfillment!

I have never seen an oracle more accurate than this toy! I mean I trust this toy with all my intimate questions I would never ask or tell anyone else. For example when I was 12 I would ask if so & so liked me as a friend or more only to find out the accuracy of this ball is 93% true, (for me at least) sometimes I would ask the same question twice if I got an undesired answer, to me, this means a maybe or it could go either way type of thing. But still trust us reviewers on the accuracy. I recommend this ball for personal questions, everyday questions, etc. But as for business which I rarely used it for, I hope your a careful desicion maker. You know, don't gamble your stocks or anything on this ball! If you want, I hear there is a financial 8-ball from the reviewer below.A great & honest companion recommended for people Age 12 and up!!
