Customer Review: Weird and annoying

My 4 year old daughter was excited to ask for this from her grandparents as an (early) Christmas gift. It was the only thing on her list this year! Boy what a let down for us all. This is NOT a soft and cuddly baby doll. The body is hard plastic so my daughter doesn't even want to sleep with it. The gown is reminiscent of hospital gown which means it's short and thin and cheap and practically see-through. The dolls hair is sparse and short. My first thought (and I mean no offense to anyone) is this doll looks more like she is going through chemo treatments than a common cold.
Now for the talking part... yes she is creepy and yes she sounds like an nasally old man. There are many phrases that she cycles through and most are utterly annoying and whiny but the most annoying one is the sound of her blowing her nose. Believe me when I say it sounds like a cross between your old grandpa blower his honker and something that comes out the other end. Very off putting. Plus the phrases about not liking the medicine (as a previous mentioned) is really wrong. The only cute thing she does is making a slurping noise when you give her the medicine dropper and say "ahhh" when you place the thermometer in her mouth.
You are supposed to press her belly for her to speak but even a slight hug sets her off which means she is blowing her nose and groaning and whining all the time. My daughter turns the button off and leaves it off now, which totally defeats the point of the doll. As a matter of fact, she has probably played with this doll a total of 2 hours in the month she has had it.
Fortunately the IL's paid a fairly decent price for the doll- and I'm happy it wasn't my money in the end! I don't recommend this doll unless possibly your child has an extended illness and needs something to relate to in that way. It's just an awful product, just awful
