My 2.5 year old recieved this as a Christmas gift this year. She really likes it and it appears to be very durable as well as educational. She likes counting the animals and learning thier names. I like that it all folds up and all the animals can be stored inside. We also talk about Noah and his wife and why Noah built the ark. In that way I feel it is also educational because she is learing about the Bible.
I think this toy would be good for very small children as well as there is nothing to get choked or hurt on. Small hands can easily hold and maniuplate this item.
We like this toy so much I'm considering getting her the extra animals that come with it.

My twins got this as a present for their christening. It's perfect! The christian theme, the "twin" animals, very cute...
It is one of their favorite toys. We play "how fast can the kids take the animals off the top pegs while mommy tries to put them on" a lot - major giggles.
We did take the flag away - it seemed too flimsy for them at the time (9 months) and since they were sucking on it, the paper sticker was starting to come off - but we'll eventually bring it back.
I'm here to purchase the extra animals. I'm a little sad that they don't have extra giraffes - their favorite animals of the bunch - but I'm excited that they DO have extras!

My daughter received the ark and the additional animal sets last Christmas when she had just turned one. She plays with it literally every day. Over the past 10 months it has helped her learn in many ways. She has learned to names of the animals and now says most of them and also imitates some of the noises they make. It also allows her to fine tune her motor skills by placing the animals on the pegs and in and around the ark. SHe also enjoys sorting the animals and placing them in other containers. At one point she carried the pink toucan everywhere she went. I highly recommend this toy to anyone who wants to encourage a love of animals in their little one.Customer Review: Wonderful toy!!

Our one year old son loves this toy. The animals are wonderful and the set closes up to one unit for easy storage. Neat features such as the hatch to put the animals into the ark and the ramp so that the animals can leave the ark help keep it very interesting for him. I know as he grows, the possibilities for his imagination to blossom using the ark, which has wheels to push it with, and the animals for play will be endless. The flag for the top of the ark is also very clever with a rainbow on one side and rain/lightning on the other. One problem is that if you are looking for the additional animals sets, they are very hard to come by at this point!Customer Review: Big Fan of Little People

This is #6 of our Little People collection started with our first daughter who is now 6. I am so happy that Fisher Price has continued this line, unlike others which have lasted only short peroids of time. One of the things I love about this particular toy is that is leaves much to the imagination. There are no sounds or lights except those provided by creative children! Both of my daughters have enjoyed this toy, along with the extra animal sets, and it is a nice companion to all the other Little People ensembles. I think it is extremely durable as it has survived hundreds of children in our church classroom. It's a keeper!
