Toys and Games Reviews of Disney Mack Truck PlaysetCustomer Review: fun for your Cars fan, but ONLY if you already have the cars Summary: 4 Stars
As a maniac mom, I bought the complete set of little cars more than 2 months before the movie opened, and thank goodness I did because they are impossible to find now unless you are willing to pay a ridiculous premium. I think that for the price, it is a bit of a rip-off that it doesn't come with a Lightning McQueen, especially since that is the whole appeal of the truck. You also have to read the box carefully to know that there is no McQueen included. I like that the truck comes apart and reattaches to the cab easily, so that my 4-year-old doesn't have to ask me 20 times a day to do it. I do think that some of the features are dramatically overstated (come on, a "game station" ?!?), but the kid really digs it.
Customer Review: Gets Daily Use Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this for my son shortly after his 2nd birthday.
The downside: I quickly realized that the small pieces were going to be a problem as I was starting to find them all over the house. I removed them and stashed them away. He could most likely manage them now but has a younger sister who would find them.
Also the trailer can be a bit tricky for a smaller child to open but as their motor skills improve they work past it.
The upside: With or without the small pieces this toy gets daily use for over a year now. Well worth the money. He loves incorporating the die cast cars with it now.
If something ever happened to this Mack truck we would definately repurchase it.
Customer Review: He plays with it so much I can't belive it's still in one piece Summary: 5 Stars
and I mean that literally. It looks like junky plastic. It has tiny, break-offable parts (do not get this for a small child who swallows things). It is very hard to open and close. It can not open while Mac is driving, doesn't have massage pads and doesb't have a phone like in the movie. And my almost 3-year-old LOVES it! He plays with it every day. Now when he loves it this much and it hasn't actually broken even though I thoroughly expected it to the second I opened it I have to give it high marks. I do wish it was made to be more consistant with the inside of Mac in the movie. If your child is a stickler for detail don't get this. If not... it will fast become a favorite toy.
Customer Review: My 5 year old LOVES this toy! Summary: 4 Stars
My son [...] picked this toy out himself with his $20 gift certificate. He's been playing with it non stop! I think it's great! Inside the truck, there are different sections: car wash, kitchen w/ water & oil, dancefloor (you'll have to see it)--overall--very cute! Some of the little parts inside seem somewhat fragile to me but as long as you tell your child to be a little gentle with them, it should be fine. If you're looking for a durable (takes a licking but keeps on ticking type) toy, I don't recommend it. But if you have a long car/plane ride or a child who likes little toys & parts (lego/lincoln logs type), I think it's great.
Customer Review: Great addition, but... Summary: 3 Stars
My son is in love with the "Cars" toys... we have virtually all the die-cast figures that are out. So it only seemed natural that we add "Mack" to the collection as well, to complete the entire collection.
Unfortunately, it's one of the least played with toys in the lot. While it seems like a great concept (having Lightning McQueen play in his pad), the trailer is very difficult to open... as an adult! It's impossible for my son to open.
On occasion, it will get pushed around the floor, but 9 out of 10 times it'll be sitting on the shelf while all the other cars get played with daily.
