Toys and Games Reviews of Disney Cars: Radiator Springs Mountain Challenge Track SetCustomer Review: Not Worth It Summary: 2 Stars
My son got this as a present for his 5th birthday. It took me and my husband nearly an hour to put it together, and after less than half an hour of playing it promptly fell apart. The spinning wheels that shoot the cars around the track have no protection for little fingers either, a fact that I found extremely worrysome as little boys love to poke at their toys to see how they work. After putting the track together for probably the tenth time in a week, it went in the trash. It's flimsy, unstable, doesn't stay put together (falls apart just from the toy car going around on the track), and is not safe. Highly disappointed.
Customer Review: Radiator Springs Mountain Challenge Summary: 4 Stars
I found it very easy to assemble , no tools required, A to A, B to B, easy to follow directions. 15 minutes is all it took. Testing prior to Christmas appears it willl be alot of fun for our grandson
A couple questions ; has anyone found any other "Cars" that will work on the track ? Are they the ones on Disney web site listed as being made in United Kingdom? The box indicates you can collect the rest, but do they work with the game? Car is 3"L x 1.5"W Width seems critical as well as the wide wheels which are 5/16"W which helps the 180degree spin out. Thus Matchbox or Hotwheels won't get the spin plus they are heavier.
Customer Review: Entertainment for days! Summary: 5 Stars
I did not put this together, but I'm told it was pretty easy. Once up and running, so were we. My five year old son spent almost an entire day "charting" which Radiator Springs resident ran the track the best. We then spent the next two days at tryouts for the rest of his Hot Wheels/ Matchbox collection. He really likes the "tipper" that gently dumps a car from the track and the spin out at the curve. I'm surprized that it hasn't come apart like so many other racetracks, and that it has captivated him so. We are continuing our test runs with other materials too, like marbles and superballs. Neat.
Customer Review: AAAGH - disappointing Summary: 1 Stars
This is what my son wanted for his 5th birthday - and it was all he asked for. He got 2 giftcards, and we went to get it today. It took forever to put together - with only pictures for assembly - no words! Two different pieces keep popping out - and the car falls off of the track after bousing off the railing. I feel horrible that my son spent his own gift crads on this. We also bought 3 additional die cast cars that were above it on the shelf at Toys R Us, but they are too wide to work.
Overall, much longer to put together than was spent playing with it!
Customer Review: It's Great Summary: 5 Stars
I read all of the negative reviews and nearly didn't buy it, but my 4 year old really wanted Santa to get it, so he did. It wasn't the easiest toy to put together at 1:00 am Xmas morning, but once it was together it worked great. Looks flimsy, but that's part of it, it's real sturdy. It is still working 3 days later, and my 2 and 4 year old boys are animals. To the reviewer who said it doesn't work with any other hotwheels or other cars, well it doesn't work with my drill nor my snowblower, that's why they weren't included you knucklehead.
