Customer Review: save yourself the frustration

The barbie's wings detaching constantly along with your daughter's screams for help reattaching them every five minutes will take all the joy out of this toy. Also, I didn't see it happen, but one day my four year old daughter brought me the doll and it's neck was missing. I couldn't figure it out at first, but ultimately realized her head had come off and my daughter had shoved it back on over the neck.
That is the only barbie we've ever had whose head has come off. It was probably due to my daughter's frustration with the doll's wings not staying on and finally deciding to rip her head off rather than a defective part, but either way, the toy was NOT a winner and I would spare anyone the displeasure.

Ok. So i got this Barbie for my 5 yr old and she LOVES it. It IS a pretty Barbie, but it ISN'T perfect. The wings fall off all the time and it's hard to get them back on. Hard for me, but impossible for my dtr. I think the main reason that it's so hard to put them back on is because it's difficult to tell which way they go. The slotted things are very similar in size so it just makes it more difficult. The dress is pretty, and even though it and the wings have glitter all over them, the glitter does not get all over everythign, which my husband is greatful for!! LOL!! I gave this doll three stars because of the wing issue. Other than that, my dtr LOVES it!!!Customer Review: Beautiful, and very high maintenance!

After months of hopeful requests from my 4 year old daughter for this doll, Santa left Mariposa this morning under our Christmas tree. The doll is lovely and sparkly and will capture the imagination of most young girls, but those darn wings are a never-ending frustration. We've had it open less than a few hours and already I've had to hook them back on at least 15-20 times. I'm caught between exchanging it for the other Mariposa with the smaller wings or gluing the wings on with super glue as other posters have suggested. I wish I read the reviews before we asked Santa for this gift -I never imagined the very poor design problem on the wings!Customer Review: Fairy-magination

Yes, the wings come off, bhut it is not as bad or frustrating as some reviewers have complained. The wings snap back on in about 10 seconds a wing. The doll is best for a 5+ child. The wings are beautiful and capture fairy-magination of girls.
On the wing falling off issue, I used this toy to as a teaching tool of treating things gently and with care. My daughters never "cried" about the wings falling off. If they became frustrated by the toy I suggested that they need to play with care or change activities if they wanted to play rough. Overall, it is a nice toy, it inspires fairy story making/roleplaying and is beautiful.

I bought this Mariposa for my daughter's Birthday. Wings are hard to manage for 4 yars old, so I had to attach them every time.30 min after openning wings broke. They got compleatly loose in the place they connected to the doll. And I had to secure them with rubber bands. Now if wings fell off at least they stay on the doll. I called to the manufactury to order new wings but they do not make them as spare parts. But I will receive a voucher to replace this toy. I fill sorry for my daughter. She wanted Mariposa so much. It is a dissapointment.Unitl this product will be improved I wuldn't recomend to buy it.
