I just love this MP3 player! Oh, my Gosh...Barbie's lips light up so you know it's on! This was by far the EASIEST set up for any electronic device I've ever bought. I'm still trying to get two MP3's to work from last Christmas. The sound quality is great, there's a couple of songs on there already. I loaded songs right off the computer with absolutely no problems. I love the additional accessories that can be bought to go with it too. We have the Panda set, so there are little "earrings" that clip onto the earpieces! How cute is that? My daughter also has had a blast on the Barbie Girl website, it's similar to the WebKinz interactive website. My daughter absolutely loves her MP3 player, which she received this Christmas. We control the content that goes into the player (Mozart, Bach, etc) and monitor her daily use of it. The device does take some getting use to in getting music saved onto it--Real Player files have to be converted before saving them onto the device. Overall the quality is good and the ease of use is adequate for a six year old girl. The accessory compliment is typical Barbie, which also includes a web element to the experience.
Some parents may object to the web element of this product as mindless (as my wife and I do), so it is advised that you spend some time with your daughter and see for yourself.

Let me tell you, I got this for my niece for Christmas and it is perfect! She's four, so she's obviously not ready for the standard mp3 player that everyone has these days. I usually do my toy shopping on Amazon, and when I saw this, I knew it would satisfy her music needs.
The 1GB holds many of my niece's songs. She has Disney music, Wee Kids songs, and the pre-uploaded Barbie songs on here. My only complaint is that you can't tell where the songs are in the player, so you have to scan until you find what you're looking for. Installation of the software is easy and uploading music is super-easy.
Other than that one gripe, this is perfect for a young girl.

I have had my original Barbie Girls MP3 player for about 2 years, and it still works great. It is so easy for my 5-year-old to use on her own, I bought one for my mother-in-law who has no idea how to even use a CD player, her eyesight is so poor, she wouldn't even be able to turn it on/off, she wouldn't be able to charge it either cuz she doesn't have a computer. This was PERFECT for her -- just plug in the earphones, it turns ON, unplug the earphones, it turns OFF. The Volume buttons are easy, and the only other buttons are the FFWD & RWND. Easy to charge w/ a USB/electric adapter that is really inexpensive. Adding an additional memory card is easy as well. And it's adorable :)Customer Review: Girls' Favorite Christmas Gift

Santa brought my girls (ages 6 & 8) these MP3 players and deco packs for Christmas and WHAT A HIT! I had originally purchased them fancier (& more expensive) MP3 players and when I saw these on Amazon at such a deal, I figured "what have I got to lose?". I was able to return the two MP3 players I originally bought and got 2 BarbieGirl players, 4 deco packs and 3 Idogs for less money than the original 2 MP3 players! And they have take those MP3 players and IDogs everywhere we've traveled the past few days. I learned a valuable lesson this holiday season...do all of my shopping on Amazon! I got great deals on a BUNCH of things that were on my kids' lists.
