Customer Review: I HATE THIS GAME!!!!!!!! HATE IT.... DID I SAY HATE!!!!
Summary: 1 Stars

This is the most mamsy-pamsy stupid game on the planet. Not only is it no fun but it can drive you mad because the outcome is determined by the person reviewing the answers. The answers are in no way reflective of the stupid one word description that is given and the outcome is so stupid because the best answer is never chosen. Rather the reviewer chooses the answer that best suits his/her fancy which makes any logic for the answers chosen fly out the window like a stale fart that blows in the wind. I have friends that like this game and when I have to play it I cringe because I am trapped in a living hell of a stupid game that has no correct answers. Burn this game and the factory that makes it. Kill the makers... who are probably a bunch of tree hugging peace freaks that were losers all their life so in order for them to feel good they had to invent a game that makes no sense and doesn't offend anyone. Give me a real game with winners and losers at least I know I am in control of my destiny! I would have rated this game a 1/4 star but 1 star is the lowest I can rate it. If you enjoy this game there is something seriously wrong with you, or your just plain OLD!

I just received this game and played it with family members. Overall the game is very basic. Red Cards (nouns-persons,places,or things) are dealt to players and a judge is assigned to monitor the players played red cards vs. the adjective description card (Green). The other good thing about this game, is that each card has additional information that will assist you with understanding what is written on the card - some with humor. With over 700 player (Red) cards, this game will not repeat very often and even if a card comes up again, the multitude of Green descriptive cards will keep up the variety. This game has a minimum of 4 players, but more than that is suggested for greater enjoyment. The players should also have a sense of humor, as if the game is played "Straight," it kind of loses some of that fun. Once you get tired of playing the "normal" game, they have suggestions for additional ways to play it.

Customer Review: Easy to learn game for all ages
Summary: 5 Stars

Although Apples to Apples recommended age is 12 and up, we've often played this game as a large group with children as young as 8. Although the younger children (and an occassional adult!) may need help with the definition of one of the words now and then, they are definitely able to play at a level that makes them pretty competitive with everyone else.

Each player is dealt five nouns and then the judge (which rotates through the players with each turn) throws down an adjective. There are a few different methods of playing and we have adapted the rules that each player throws down one noun card to pair with the adjective the judge has thrown. The judge then picks their "favorite." The judge can make their selection based on whatever criteria they want, so a big part of the strategy is getting to know each of the other players as a judge to see what type of answers they pick (some people may pick the most ridiculous, others the funniest and still others may look for accuracy).

This game always gets everyone laughing, and can be taught to new players in just a minute or two. It's also wonderful for very large groups.

Customer Review: A great buy
Summary: 5 Stars

This is one of my favorite family games. It can easily be played by a large number of people, which is always a good thing. Essentially, in this game each player is given seven "red apple" cards, each of which has a noun on it, such as "a school cafeteria," "the FBI," or "sharks." Each card also has a little bonus description or joke, such as "many species living today are similar to those from 100 million years ago. Because change is scary." Each round, a different player is "it," and flips over a "green apple" card, which ahs an adjective on it, such as "hardworking," "foreign," or "shy." The other players each choose on of their noun cards they feel the "it" player will choose as being the best match for the flipped-over adjective. The player whose "red apple" card is chosen keeps the "green apple" card- first player to reach a certain number of green cards wins.

This game is a lot of fun- it has next to no set up and can easily be transported without the box if the occasion arises. Works well with large or small groups, and with people you know well or are getting to know. It is a really good buy.

Customer Review: Great for Families or Parties.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
We've had a blast with this game. It's so easy to learn. You have seven word cards in your hand from the first deck, and you have to pick one that is best described by the card that is turned over from the second deck. First, we played with my seven year old son and the neighborhood kids, and even though they didn't understand some of the words, they'd crack up when they'd see the other boys' choices. We mixed the cards being played, then handed them to my husband, the judge, so he wouldn't know who's card was whose. Next, we played it when we had some friends over for drinks. This time, instead of the judge not knowing who the cards belonged to, we actually tried to talk our choice up so he would choose our card. This quickly turned into a lot of silliness as we made our cases, and I think we ended up playing for over an hour before the kids came out and took over again.
