Customer Review: Glad I made the purchase

Wanted to get a bunch of marshmallow shooters for my nephews for Christmas. They'd seen them in the SkyMall magazine on a plane. Read all the reviews. After that, wasn't sure if they were worth it, so I just bought one each of the marshmallow shooter and the blaster. So far, love them both! They really aren't made any 'cheaper' than any other kids toy around here. I wouldn't give them to a really young kid, cuz they could break them. But if the child knows what they are doing, I don't see a problem with loading, shooting, etc. We haven't had it very long, so I can't say how long it will last, but I'm back to purchase more and looking forward to Christmas morning!
By the way....the 'shooter' uses mini marshmallows, you can load around 20 at a time, and it shoots out a couple at once. But it takes longer to load cuz you have to load the marshmallows in a certain way.
The 'blaster' uses regular sized marshmallows and only shoots one at a time. But it is easier and quicker to load and 1 kid can entertain themselves with this one by shooting it straight up and trying to catch it.

Unfortunately, the mashmallow shooter does not operate the way you would hope it would. I purchased five of these guns and gave them to family over the holidays. Everybody ran into the same problem. The first 5-10 marhmallows comes out smoothly. After that they begin to stick to the exit of the gun. You'll see 3-5 mashmallows backing up, bulging into a larger blob that never shoots anywhere. We have tried dehydrating marshmallows, and we have tried applying oil to the end of the barrel to see if that makes any difference. It doesn't. Although everybody loves the idea there is a gun out there that can shoot marshmallows, I regret to say that you are better off throwing them with your hand. This product was a huge waste of money. We can't seem to throw ours away b/c it cost so much and keep picking it up hoping it will work one day. It's a false hope!Customer Review: Don't waste your money

I bought two of these shooters for my children, a six year old girl and a nine year old boy, after they saw another child with one near Christmas. I should have researched the quality of this product but it looked simple and fun. The guns were easy to get out of the packages but after we loaded the marshmallows into the guns according to the instructions, neither gun ever fired a marshmallow. We unloaded each gun and re-loaded each twice but the awful things never worked. My kids were so disappointed -- it was meant to be a fun toy but created disappointment. I can't even return them to Amazon because they are not in their original package, unopened. This is a two piece plastic assembly with a removable marshmallow tube. Pump action creates pressure propelling the marshmallow about 15 to 20 feet.
Unfortunately, marshmallows (if at room temperature) get stuck frequently. I spent 6 times on the day after Christmas removing marshmallows from the nozzle. It appears that the ammo needs to be perfect in shape and colder than room temperature. I would prefer if this were used outdoors but I could really foresee antpiles everywhere.
Aside from the Jams, which stick like glue, this toy is fun for little kids. If it can shoot dog kibble, at least the floors would be cleaned up, after my daughter shoots the ammunition everywhere.

i bought the marshmallow gun for my grandson on his fourth birthday. i've never seen him or any other child have so much fun with any toy. i could hear him (and the other kids) laughing even though they were outside and i was upstairs. it shoots pretty hard, but they are only marshmallows, so it's relatively harmless. it was a little hard for him to pull the trigger since he's so small, but he had help. he loved it and so did everybody else. if you're looking for a good gift for a child, a teenager, or even an adult male, this is a GREAT gift!! it was worth the money and if you're reasonably careful with it, it won't jam and it will last. i plan on getting one for my niece for her birthday.
