Toys and Games Reviews of RipRoar - Creation StationCustomer Review: Dinky Danky Stinky Stanky Item Summary: 1 Stars
I know, you've noticed this sucker has dropped in price to 25 bucks or something and you're thinking, "how bad could it be?". You would pay twice that to avoid the hassle of trying to figure this garbage out. This is the worst anything I ever bought in my life, and I've bought some doozies. Not user friendly. If you know nothing about software/hardware, you're actually one of the lucky ones because you'll give up far sooner than someone who knows a few tricks. Please, in my best Sally Struthers voice: do not buy this. Think of your children...
Customer Review: my son loves this Summary: 5 Stars
i got this for my son. you should see the videos he makes... made himself look like he was doing weather reports, then took pictures from my wife's business trip to Pheonix and did a funny dialogue over the pictures for her birthday.
the green screen was bigger than expected, and the software definitely has a learning curve, but we were able to post videos pretty quickly.
if he likes this video editing stuff enough, maybe he'll move to hollywood and become famous? fingers are crossed...

The idea seems great. I bought 2 for grandchildren. The package should have noted that a laptop computer would be helpful since the family PC may not be in a place conducive to filming or hanging the green screens. The tripod is quite flimsy. The disk connects the user to a website to download the operating program... some people who live in remote places still have dialup. It would have taken 7 hours to download. The 11 year old will certainly need adult help to use this gift. Hope grandma can figure it out!
Customer Review: Great toy for the price! Summary: 5 Stars
My son loves this toy. While the camera and tripod are plastic and toy-like, the green screen material is high quality and large. For the $20 price I got it for it was well worth it - especially for how excited he was to get it. I read the reviews about the difficulty with the software, but my 11 year old was able to get everything working without problems. He was making movies with his friends the day after Christmas. I would highly recommend it for less than $30 - it's a great start to making movies.
Customer Review: Rip Roar Creation Station Review Summary: 3 Stars
While we like the overall premise of the toy, the software is fairly difficult to figure out and we are having trouble figuring out how to navigate through the website. The stand for the camera isn't extremely durable, and already broke. The idea of this toy is still very appealing to my 10 year old, but because I'm not Steve Jobs, we are struggling to make it work as it is designed. If the software were easier, we'd all be happier. :)
