Customer Review: Perfect for creative active kids

I gave 2 of these away for Christmas gifts to 2 very different families. The first family has very active and creative "tweeners". Apparently they made a video within the first 2 hours that is hysterical.
The second family has 2 more serious boys also "tweeners" who are only interested in video games. They ended up taking video of the family pets, and each other being goofy. This is something we do not usually have an opportunity to see, so well worth the money.
I highly recommend this for that in between aged child. It is easy enough to use, but sophisticated enough to not be considered a "toy".

I agree with first post .. spent a few hours trying it to get the software to work on an XP machine, only to be rewarded with Fatal Errors every time I started the software. Finally got it to work on a Vista machine, but it would only run for about 5 minutes before simply crashing.
Cheap plastic camera, tripod (that would simply fall over due to the weight of the camera), flimsy plug that spent more time connecting and disconnecting every time you bumped the cable.
In short, save your money, buy a decent web-cam, green sheet and use one of the countless free software packages out there.

I was able to install the software and camera with no problems following the on-screen prompts, and we were making videos within minutes. The product definitely is not commercial or even typical consumer-grade; as some of the other viewers have mentioned, the plastic camera doesn't feel very durable, the USB cable is way too short, the tripod is pretty much unusable (I loaned my son my "real" tripod, and the software's editing functionality is pretty limited. The bottom line, though, is my son absolutely loves it! He's spent hours shooting and producing his own special effects.Customer Review: Great value for the price

For the money, this toy really lets you do alot. You can merge any pictures, video, music, sound effects, etc. that you have on your pc or from the software. You can add new video taken with the green screen and replace the background. It takes some time to get going and takes about 1/2 hour to make a video. You will probably need to bring in additional lighting. If there are shadows on the green screen, it doesn't work so well. The tripod is very flimsy, so you want to put it up when not in use. Still a fun, creative toy and a great value for the price.Customer Review: Creation Station is junk!

Do not waste your money on this item. The software AND camera only work while actually plugged into a PC. You have to carry your laptop around with you wherever you want to shoot. It's nearly impossible to use footage shot with another camera when you want to edit a movie, and if you do, the stupid crap camera still has to be plugged into your PC. I got this for my eleven-year-old who is already filming and editing movies and music videos way beyond what this product can do. Oh, and by the way, the tripod broke the second we tried to screw the camera onto it.
