Toys and Games Reviews of GoGo TV Video Vision Main ConsoleCustomer Review: Saw it on Regis and Kelly Summary: 3 Stars
While watching morning television I happened upon the Live with Regis and Kelly show about a week before my daughter's 5th birthday. It just so happened that it was the Top 10 Toys show - thank goodness for me because this child can go the rest of her life without ever receiving another toy and still have a different toy to play with each and every day - I kid you not!!! In any event, we purchased this toy and much to my delight it arrived by the UPS truck the morning of her birthday - yeah!!! We took it out of the box and had it set up and working within 15 minutes (we are definately not a mechanically inclined family - very ver easy set up). We have played all the games, but our favorite is balloon juggle - I think the adults like it better than the kids!!! There is a camera that sits on top of your television or on a shelf near by - you may have to do some tweaking until it is the proper height to see your child's head and body, and then play away. Your child appears on the television screen, and if that is not the cool part, balloons start falling all around and they need to "pop" them. Entertained my 2 children for a couple of hours and is the first game that is pulled out when friends arrive. I would definately recommend this toy. It helps a child build motor skills (hitting the moles in Whac-a-Mole, popping the balloons) and is a fun indoor activity. Definately a favorite in our house.
Customer Review: A great little workout! Summary: 4 Stars
I originally saw this On Regis & Kelly as well, but was hesitiant to fork up the $$ for it. Then we found it at Wal-Mart on clearance for $25, so we *had* to get it! Hooked it up right away, which was super easy. We don't have an issue with lighting at all & all we have is a ceiling fan light. My 6 year old & I enjoyed it very much. The balloon juggle is by far the best of the 4 games.
He & I got a great little workout & had a blast laughing as we found new ways to bump the balloons. We used our heads, elbows, knees, bottoms, etc... I could only give it 4 stars though, because we may have to return/exchange ours. After 20 minutes of play, the TV picture developed static lines and the lines play the game for you. The balloons hit the lines & go back up. We turned it off, then back on & started all over & the lines disappeared, but returned after just 10 minutes. Hmmm...
Customer Review: A cool "virtual-reality" type game Summary: 4 Stars
I had never heard of this until my daughter asked for it. We got it for her for Christmas and I have to say that even I enjoy playing it. It's a lot of fun and we usually end up laughing at some of the gyrations we go through in order to catch the numbers or get the balloons popped!
A couple of negatives: If there is movement around the room it could throw the game off (my dog even popped a balloon by putting her nose in the air sniffing at something). Another problem is that you need A LOT of light in the room.
All in all, it's a pretty neat toy that the whole family seems to enjoy playing, so we'll probably get her some of the other games that go with it.
Customer Review: Keep the receipt Summary: 2 Stars
I recently bought this for my 6 and 3 year old. (And for me too.) Everyone was very excited about being able to see themselves on the tv and play games too. The game was easy enough to set up, but that is where the positive attributes end.
We had 3 lights on in the room we were in, and could barely see my daughter. Then we took it to another room where the lighting is even better with no better results. The picture quality was very poor and we could not get more than one game to play. Thank goodness I kept the receipt. We returned it the next day. I think this could be a really great game but it needs some work. Very disappointed!
Customer Review: Got us movin' and groovin' Summary: 5 Stars
My son just received this toy for his birthday in the middle of all the holiday craziness and it is definitely a favorite. We opened it last night, and had it hooked up in minutes. We had the best time not only watching my son and his friend playing, but also playing ourselves. We also have the whac-a-mole addition and it is difficult to get started. We have adequate overhead and window lighting so evening play was not bad and day play was great! Highly recommend this toy. Builds great eye hand coordination, gross motor skills and decision making (some balloon hits lose you points). Well worth the money to see my son up,moving, and laughing.
