This is a fun toy regardless of if you ever figure out everything it does. Part keyboard, part Theramin, part gizmo. And you can even hook up an MP3 to it - which for the audience it's aimed at is useless.
This is worth the price just to see what sounds you can make. My daughter (7) really enjoys it.

It's kind of cool to be able to add beats to music, but the keys on the keyboard are for small children only. If you're purchasing for a child who wants to capture the feel of playing the piano, keep looking. This wasn't my son's top pick for a Christmas gift, but ended up being his favorite. The keyboard fully functions, gives many different styles of instruments, and also includes a very cool percussion mechanism activated by your hand. My granddaughter wanted this for Christmas. She was thrilled when she opened it but hasn't played with it since. I don't think she is musically inclined. It looked and sounded great to me, so maybe it just wasn't right for her. I think I would like to have it myself.
