We got this mobile when our baby was just a few weeks old, and it was great for her. The simple, contrasting patterns really captured her attention. It's nice that the pieces are interchangeable - she is fascinated when we switch them. We have also taped the spare pieces to the walls by her changing table, and she really likes that, too.
The pieces come pre-assembled in T-shaped pairs, and those are fairly difficult to separate. However, it's possible, and putting the shapes onto the mobile isn't too bad.
Unfortunately, this mobile isn't very mobile, Not only is there no motor or crank, but the pieces hang simply by a hook, so there's nothing to allow for a 360-degree spin. The best you can do is give it a strong push and let it swing a bit. We used long twister-ties to increase the length and give it a little bit more room to swing.
Now that our baby is about 4 months old, we've noticed that she's not quite so interested in the simple shapes. She does, however, enjoy discovering them on her walls.

I bought this product when my baby was 4 weeks old thinking I could use it at birth. She wouldn't even look at it. I thought I had wasted my money.
Then, around 7 weeks she started really enjoying it. She is 10 weeks now and she will lay in her co-sleeper staring at the cards, smiling and talking to them. It is so awesome seeing her have so much fun with this.
I love how you can change the cards because it keeps her interested, even though I haven't had to change them out much.
Yes, the product could be made better and you have to be gentle when switching out the cards, but for the price, it is absolutely 5 stars.
Another thing I really love is that I can use it with my co-sleeper with an added cost. I bought the JL Childress crib mobile attachment clamp for $12.99. If you buy them together, shipping is free.
I don't have a crib and wanted a great mobile but none were compatible with my arm's reach co-sleeper. With the clamp, this STIMulating mobile is one of the best purchases I've made for my baby.

My baby daughter LOVED this mobile. Just like the description says, she squealed with delight looking at it. She could spend up to 40 minutes looking, pawing, cooing at the mobile. She smiled at it non-stop and almost talked to it. Now it's hanging above her changing table, and she still loves looking at it (she's one now).
I would recommend though substituting one of the links with a piece of string. Then you can spin it, and that really grabs baby's attention.
Of all the things we got for our new born, this one was definitely the most popular with her.
Some reviewers noted that it isn't well made. Well, it is on the flimsy side, but it is not meant to be played with. It is meant only to be looked at, and for that it works absolutely fine.
Do not hide away pictures as you change them, put them on the changing table or on the playing mat. The baby will enjoy looking at them and touching them.
I am giving this to all my friends with babies now, and it is a hit.
Customer Review: Great Mobile... Just Amazing!!!

We bought this mobile to hang over our 2 month old baby's changing table. The minute we placed it above his head, he was mesmerized by it. He LOVES it and now his changing table is his favorite place in he entire world. He'll be crying his head off, we'll set him on the changing table, he looks up and immediately calms down. Every morning when he wakes up, we move him to the changing table and he starts laughing and talking to his little friends on the mobile. It really is quite remarkable. We've bought another one for his crib now that he's sleeping there. I'll try to post a video of him "talking" to his friends on his mobile... so cute!!! One word of warning, the way these pieces fit together is not very elegant, but you know what? My baby loves it and doesn't care that the pieces don't fit quite right. Don't listen to the negative reviews unless you're buying it as a gift. And even if you are, if the gift recipient gives it a chance, I'm sure their baby will fall in love with it just like my little boy has.Customer Review: Child likes it, but...

We were initially very excited by the fact that our 2 month old daughter loved this thing instantly. But upon using it a bit more, we have seen 3 major limitations that we suspect will make it short-lived.
1. The cards are very hard to replace without breaking (due to the cheap, stiff nature of their plastic and the small knobs that hold them together).
2. It doesn't spin.
3. The vertical cards are almost useless, since the baby cannot see them when she is directly beneath the mobile (where baby is most intrigued), and since the vertical and horizontal cards have different hole locations and therefore cannot be swapped with one another. All it would have taken is an extra set of holes in each card (no cost!) to achieve this but the manufacturers missed it entirely.
Baby likes it...for now. But we know that overstimulating her with the same images, and ones that don't spin, might be a problem with this mobile.
