I bought this toy based on the reviews and I was not disappointed. I bought other toys for my baby, but this is really the only toy he is interested in. This is the toy I use for Tummy Time. He will work so hard to stay up or pull himself back up to look at this toy. It's also the only toy that he can easily grab and carry in his hands. The material is great since it's kind of squishy. My son will be turning 3 months this week and he has been playing with this toy since he was 2 months old.Customer Review: Has lasted through three children...

I don't know about PVC or plastic coating or anything like that, but I CAN tell you that it is worth the price if you're planning on having more than one kid. We opened up our Winkel in Jan 2004 for our oldest son...our daughter used it throughout 05 and early 06...and our youngest son has had his hands and mouth on it for two months now. It hasn't cracked, faded, etc despite months...YEARS...of use! I get this toy for everyone having their first child as all three of mine have loved it.Customer Review: Best first toy

My baby didn't show much interest in toys at first. We bought this when she was just starting to bat at a toy on her car seat (3.5 months). She took to this toy right away and it is definitely her absolute favorite (she is now 5 months). It is soft and easy to grip, the rattle in the middle is not to loud but stimulating, and she can easily put it in her mouth and play with it. We do not go anywhere without this toy and she screams in excitement as soon as we pull it out for her to play.Customer Review: Baby's favorite toy

We bought this toy on recommendation from my brother, who has a daughter that is a month older than my son. He was 2 1/2 months old at the time and immediately took to it. It is now one of his favorite toys. He holds it well in both hands as it is flexible and the "tubing" is small enough for him to hold. He is able to mouth and chew the toy both when sitting up and laying down. The rattle portion is not that interesting to him at this time, but may be in the future.Customer Review: Great toy

I have now been dubbed the best toy buyer around by my daughter-in-law. My grand daughter loves this toy and goes back to it more than any other. I thought she might be too old to enjoy it (10 months old when she got it) but she continues to favor it even a couple of months later.
She is allowed to select whatever toys she wants to play with from her shelves and toy-box. This is the only toy that has to be picked up and put away every single evening.
