Customer Review: First toy my baby actually held

This is the first toy that my 2 1/2 month old son actually held for more than a few seconds. I've tried rattles, teethers, links, etc. But he seems to be not interested in those; he'll just open his hands, and down goes the toy. But, with the Winkel, he'll hold on to one of the rings, then eventually, his other hand would find the other side and will grasp it. I've even seem him try to put it into his mouth! Also, because it's larger than a rattle, if he does let go of the winkel, it's big enough to sit on his lap and big enough for him to find it again and grasp it.
Overall, love this toy! It's cute, colorful, lightweight, very interesting-looking, fun and easy to wash. Plus, I love that I can place it in the fridge for him, so he can use it as a teether. It's been about a week, and I can say that this is my 2 1/2 month old's favorite toy so far!

I was super excited about this toy. My little guy loves to put things in his mouth, but at 4 months, sometimes has trouble getting what he wants in his mouth. I thought this would be perfect because no matter where you bite it, there is something soft to chew on. This turned out to be only sort of true. I thought the little rings (or whatever you call them) would be a lot softer. Instead it is sort of hard. They bend of course, but just not as soft as I thought they would be. I bought this and a freddie the firefly (by lamaze) Lamaze Freddie the Firefly, Colors May Vary the same time and my little guy would choose freddie every time over this. I think it's really cool looking and a clever idea...but I'm not the one is supposed to be entertained by it. :)Customer Review: Great teether, grabber

We recently attended a baby shower where this was given as a gift. The mom-to-be handed it to our 3-month-old and he grabbed it and started gumming it. It was the first thing he definitely wanted and grabbed with complete confidence and conviction. So, we bought him one and he is still enjoying it a month later. The nice thing about it is that no matter where the baby's little hands go, they can grab onto it pretty successfully every time, which is nice for infants. It's very chewy, and you can put it in the freezer to cool it down for teething discomfort. (Having said all that, though, this is our second Winkel. Quite some time ago, we gave away the one we had bought for our daughter when she was an infant; she never showed a great deal of interest in it. So, there you go...)Customer Review: Love it! If you are considering buying this toy for a little one who is just beginning to grasp things, I definitely recommend it. It has become our go-everywhere toy! My little guy just likes having his fingers wrapped around something - it soothes him to hold on to this thing. I bought mine in a baby store and the cashier literally had to scan the tag from my little one's hands. He loves this thing. He holds it in his carseat, stroller, even at naptime sometimes, just to have something to hang on to. It has a gently rattle sound and it's pretty pliable. Now that teething has begun, he likes to chew on the curved pieces and it's so easy for him to bring this to his mouth. I am thankful that I have this and am definitely a fan! Molly is currently six months old, and this has consistently been her favorite thing to reach for and play with since she first started noticing things more than a foot away from her as a newborn. She LOVES this toy-loves to look at it, grab it, stick it in her mouth, bang it against things, whatever. It seems like such a simple thing, yet it has proven fascinating to her when she gets bored with other things. It is also extremely easy to clean, and you can use links to hook it to a bouncy seat, stroller, etc.
Other parents I know have said that their kids love this toy, too. It is colorful, soft enough that Molly doesn't hurt herself if she bonks herself in the face with it, and neat-looking!
