Customer Review: Quiet Car Rides!

My little guy is vocal! He will not only cry but will scream when he is not happy so car rides were miserable. I tried a mirror, toys on links, and even a mobile that hooked to the window. Nothing worked for more than a few minutes.
I put this in the car when my son was 3 1/2 months old, now he is 5 months. He loves to look at the pictures and coo and talk to them. He often falls asleep now in the car while "talking" to these pictures. He doesn't get bored with them since there are extras and I can change them out at the beginning of each trip. This is a really simple set of picture cards in a large pocket chart. You just put the pictures in the pockets and hang the whole thing from the back seat. Great for rear-facing babies who have little to keep their attention during a car ride. The pictures are high contrast for little ones with developing eyesight. They are also high-interest for babies with patterns and faces to look at. They are durable and the pockets can be wiped clean with wet wipes when needed.

I was searching for a friend's shower. She had asked for any ideas regarding educational stuff we found useful for our children. I immediately thought of Wimmer- Ferguson. I was fresh out of college when we had our first child, and being a Psych. Major, I knew of and understood the value of their products. I used the car seat gallery for all four of my children, and I never had "car issues" with any of them. Front OR rear facing. I had temporarily forgotten about W-F, and marveled at other friends children's problems in the car. DUH! The car seat gallery was the difference! What I liked, is that there were high contrast pictures that I could move around and change as I thought the child may becoming tired of them. Think about it... hours on end looking at the back of a SEAT! No brainer here. IT is the best! I am a little disappointed with the current "model" as it appears Manhattan toy has "altered" the images somewhat in order to appeal to parents, but I guess there is no other place to get it!Customer Review: Developmental, Safe and Multi Functional

I love this item. I am a former Montessori preschool teacher as well as a mother of 3. I bought this item for my 2 month old in preparation for a road trip this summer. I haven't put it in our car yet; I have been taking with me around the house and hanging it on anything that I can find. (Door knobs etc...) It works great and my baby now has something to look at while in her bouncy seat while I am showering or making lunch. As for the review about this toy being unsafe, in my opinion that is just not true, the person who wrote the review seems to have had no knowledge of this product. It does not attach to the child's car seat itself, it attaches to the seat of the car. It is made of soft plastic with plastic pockets, nothing hangs from it, nothing is made of hard plastic it is just a simple flat item that gives your baby something developmentally appropriate to look at instead of the interior of a car. Read mixed reviews about this product, but puchased it anyway. It has been money well spent! There are plenty of pictures and patterns that are interchangeable and visually stimulating for newborns and up. It is lightweight and easily wipes clean. You can use the supplied pictures, or easily create your own.
The infant for whom I purchased this gallery absolutely loves to look at it. It easily occupies his attention for an entire car ride. His favorite is the baby, but he stares intently at the other patterns and pictures also.
Unfortunately, the outside edges of the frame/border have curled slightly due to being left in the hot car, but it has not affected the functionality of the product. I didn't like the recommended velcro fastening system for the cars either, but, other than those two minor things, it has been a great product and I'd definitely purchase it again.
Customer Review: Great for long trips with a new baby

Bought this for my 4.5-month-old son about a month ago before a long (12 hour) road trip. He was interested in the images right away. He definitely likes some better than others, so it's great to be able to change them out and move them around. He's always pleasantly surprised when he realizes that they are different. Now that he's older, he often "talks" to the images. We're able to use it even with a mirror (we just hang the gallery a little lower). My only complaint is the velcro - heat melts the glue and the gallery slips. We solved the problem by throwing away the velcro attachments it came with, punching a couple holes in the upper corners, and attaching it to the headrest with string.
