Customer Review: Dangerous
Summary: 1 Stars

My mother got this for my 9 month old baby when she started to show interest in walking with support. We went home that night and put it together. It was easy to assemble and I thought it would be a cute toy for her. I was wrong. That morning we showed it to her as soon as she got up. I noticed how light weight the toy was and how easily she could lift the back wheels off the floor when whe was pushing it. We had to walk with her and hold the back wheels down. In her room she pushed it up against the wall and I thought she should be ok because now that it is stationary she would play with it. Well, she got behind the toy and lifted it up, the wheels buckled under and she flipped right into the wall. I realized that the wheels sit out in front of the activity board and when she lifted it up, there was nothing to stop it and she went over the top. We immediately took it back to the store and bought her another toy to push (the red car with the shape inserts on the front and the back legs can convert to a seat for when she is older. She loves this!). I did contact the company about this wide tracker activity walker and they were very responsive. I do not recommend this toy, but I was pleased at how the company handled my complaint.

Customer Review: Little Tikes Wide Tracker Activity Walker
Summary: 3 Stars

I purchased this item because it was recommended by a few others. My son likes it over all, but I am disappointed. He is 11 months old and likes to pull himself up to a standing position using something to help him. This item is so light in weight, that he cannot do that without falling over with the walker. It does have a mechanism that allows you to set the wheels faster or slower, but even the slow position is too fast for a baby taking their first steps. Keeping it on a carpet as others have suggested really helps, but still doesn't stop it from moving too fast for first steps unless I keep my foot in front of one of the wheels as he moves. It's a fun toy for him, but certainly not a great aid to help teach him to walk. He loves the spinning toy on the front of it! As far as the mail slots go, they fall out of the holes that hold them, very easily. He doesn't really play with the plastic mail that comes with it either. Some of the other toys connected to the front are fun, but too difficult for a baby under a year to move, such as the bee or the caterpillar at the bottom. They are very stiff. If they were made looser, he would be able to play with them. It's a great idea, but you can tell a "parent" didn't design it.

Customer Review: Little Tikes at a Little Price
Summary: 5 Stars

My son is 8 months old and loves his wide track walker. He walks all over, following me around the house. He's strengthening his legs and learning his colors and numbers at the same time. He loves to "mail" the little plastic letters and then take them out and mail them again.

Its price was less than all the others we looked at, but I feel the quality is more than acceptable.

I agree with the reviewers who said the little doors on the front can too easily be pulled off, but the more your child walks with it, the more interested in actually walking with it they are and they'll soon learn to leave the doors alone!

The speed control feature works well on several different heights of carpet throughout our home and the toy has proved to be sturdy (our 8 month old is 30 inches high and weighs 25 lbs). Most others we tried did not have speed control and on low pile carpet, linoleum and hardwood floors they just "took off" out from under him, causing him to land on his face.

ANY walker can tip. We tried some out in the store and at two different friends' houses--they all flipped or turned over when my son pulled down hard on them or sat down hard while still grasping the handle.

Good toy at a great price.

Customer Review: Disappointed
Summary: 3 Stars

I read all of the reviews on this product and compared it to several other walkers before purchasing it for my daughter's 1st birthday. I was sooo excited about getting it for her, eventhough a lot of the reviews stated that the doors came off easily..I wasn't too concerned about that, just more that it was going to be fun and safe for her. I was excited that it "claimed" to have speed control on the front wheels, and that was really what sold me on the product. However, Now I am wishing I would have got her something else!! The speed control doesn't work at all! If I allowed her to take off with it she would end up face planted in the floor screaming, if she moves even the slightest bit to the side it tips over. The sad thing is, it really is a cute toy (but I guess that is what you end up really paying for is the look and not safety.) The best part about the toy, for my daughter anyway, is that the doors DO come off... Funny how that works huh:) A parent can buy the coolest looking toy ever and the little booger would rather play with a cardboard box :)God Bless Her - She teaches me "Simplicity" lol Anyway, ultimately I am disappointed at the safety of this toy. Hope this helps someone!

Customer Review: Great for beginning walkers!
Summary: 5 Stars

We received this walker as a gift before our son was able to walk. The adjustable wheel tightness works great on the carpet, we started at the tightest setting to make it sturdy for pulling up. His face would light up when he would stand behind this walker and push it across the room before he was walking on his own.

I do recall a little concern about tipping, but we didn't have much trouble with it. I think the design is pretty good, and you should really be watching a child learning to walk anyway. Our son enjoyed putting the letters and other objects in the little doors. Yes, the doors come off easily, but they go back on easily too. Our son also liked some of the clicking sliders, but the main purpose of this toy was to facilitate walking, and it did a great job.

Even after he was an accomplished walker, we used this toy outside. It gave him a little support on our sloping and bumpy yard and gave him an activity that kept him out of areas I didn't want him to play in. He loved racing through the yard, he probably thought he was mowing ;o) He's almost two now, and we have this toy in storage, but we plan to use it again with our baby due next month.
