Customer Review: Worth It For A Small Child
Summary: 4 Stars

We bought this doll for our 3 year old daughter. She loves to put Band-Aids on just about anything that will stand still long enough to let her do it. I love the concept behind the doll. The crying, the fever, the booboos, the heartbeat and giggles are all exactly how they should be and my daughter is absolutely in love with it. My problem, however, is that the accessories seem so cheap. The doll is well made but the same can't be said for the extras, and they, unfortunately, cheapen it. I really wish they would've incorporated some of the Baby Alive concepts into it. Example: it would've been nice if the liquid (medicine) disappeared as you give it to the baby to make it feel better....this also applies to the syringe. The syringe is so poorly made that I know it won't be long before it's broken (thank goodness it's not needed to quiet the doll). Both are garbage IMO. I know that sounds harsh, but they really are cheap. Some points that I love about the doll: bandages are velcro and reusable, the pacifier is connected (so you don't have to worry about losing it) and the baby isn't too sensitive to movement, in other words it doesn't run a fever and cry at the drop of a hat or a nudge to the tummy...a button has to be pressed and as of yet my daughter hasn't figured out just how to do that....so she brings it to me. I bought the doll for $19.99 and I honestly wouldn't recommend paying a cent more. If your child is young, they will enjoy it so please don't allow my hangs ups to hold you back. If I could, I'd post a picture and show you just how happy my daughter is and how little she cares about my issues with it. At the end of the day this was bought for her and I think she'd give it 5 stars if she could.

Customer Review: Make it stop!
Summary: 2 Stars

I really hate to do this, but even after all these glowing reviews there may just be another person out there like me so I have to review this. We got this doll for Christmas, like many others, because I have a daughter who sees doctors a lot and loves these types of dolls. I probably have no patience or something, but seriously, every time you touch this doll she giggles. You can't carry her around and play with her without that same giggle sound playing over and over and over...during teaparties, in the car, sometimes if you bump her on accident... and if your daughter wants to sleep with her you HAVE to turn her off, and we find she's usually turned off for play as well. It's my daughter who gets tired of it. But you have to have her turned on to hear the heartbeat (which is almost impossible to find because every time you touch her with the stethoscope she laughs!) or to make her cry and help her feel better. And the little button inside her mouth looks weird, I think. It's too bad it's not more flush against the back of her mouth on the inside, because it almost looks like a pill-shaped tongue, which I said already, is kind of weird. The boo-boos take a lot of effort to make go away.

Overall, the doll is okay, and my daughter plays with her from time to time. Granted, she's not a real doll-girl to begin with. It's nice to be able to just buy preemie-sized clothes at any store and have them fit, and she loves to dress and undress baby. My other daughter got a baby that goes in the bathtub with her (Corelle Tidoo) and I think the one with the chou chou is actually a little jealous. Corelle dolls smell so yummy!

Customer Review: not an annoying sick doll
Summary: 5 Stars

I figured my daughters would love taking care of the sick doll, but thought I'd go nuts with the crying. I got 2 dolls, one for each girl, and was worried that the crying of the dolls would cause me to hide batteries at night and claim, "broken - sorry!" in the morning.

However, the doll only cries if you press her back (even my 2 year old can do it) and the crying is realisitc but, strangely, not annoying. The crying stops of you put in the thermometer (heart shaped) and then the baby will "eat" the medicine from the spoon. She then giggles. My 4 year old can do this easily and even my 2 year old is able to do it now (getting the thermometer in just right is still a bit hard).

Both my 4 year old and 2 and 1/2 year old love this dolly and the good quality of this doll is what saved Christmas for us since my 4 year old got the Disney Magic Talking Princess Nursery and it was a piece of crap. The only reason the nursery was fun at all was because this doll was so much fun for her to take care of.

I haven't figured out how to get the bandages to work, but I haven't tried the kissing it first like the product description says.

I'm a huge fan and I sincerely can't believe that the doll wasn't annoying - it wasn't at all!

Customer Review: Great learning tool
Summary: 4 Stars

My daughter had been asking for this toy for months, constantly singing the song from the commercial. I was unsure if it would keep her attention, but we bought it anyway. She loves it. She is very involved in caring for her sick baby. She really gets into it and I love watching her. She is 4 and a very caring kid, and taking care of others is what she likes to do. Giving her this doll where she is in control of everything is a great learning experience. She is concerned that she has to do whatever necessary to make "her baby" stop crying. She cuddles her, takes her temp, gives her medicine, talks to her, wraps her up and lays down with her. It is very nice to watch. It is pretty easy to make this baby better, I think it could be a little more challenging, but they are just kids and she may not like it as much if it was too hard to make the baby stop crying. And I suppose I wouldn't like it that much either! We have had lots of playtime with this doll already, and I don't see her stopping. She got a more expensive interactive doll along with this one, and she is more interesting in her sick baby than the other one. I highly recommend this toy.

Customer Review: My 3-year old loves it!
Summary: 4 Stars

My 3-year-old is very nurturing and loves her babies. She went crazy for this doll! She just LOVES to hear the doll's heartbeat, and she LOVES to make the fever go away. The only thing that doesn't quite work as advertised is the boo-boo. It doesn't disappear after you've placed the bandaid over it. You actually have to hold your hand over it so that it heats up. The heat is what makes the boo-boo disappear. So, after some initial confusion, my daughter just hasn't even thought about the boo-boo. She's all about listening to the heartbeat and making the fever go away. The cheeks really do light up red when the fever is high, and you really do have to make an effort to get the baby to stop crying (not a huge effort, but from the child's perspective, she has to "work" at getting it right so the baby will stop crying). She loves it, and now has it down to a science, and she really gets a lot of satisfaction from making the baby's cries stop. Glad I bought it for her.
