Toys and Games Reviews of Little Tikes Buildin' to Learn WorkshopCustomer Review: My daughter's favorite toy for over a year now Summary: 5 Stars
My daughter received this toy when she was about 2 1/2. She just turned 4 and still plays with it frequently. The tools make realistic sounds and act like real tools. She uses the grinder to "sharpen" all my plastic and butter knives, puts the car engine and separate little car together and takes it apart again, and takes great pride in explaining to adults how to reverse the power drill and ratchet wrench. It is a great height, and has a small enough footprint that it doesn't take up her entire bedroom. And after all that play, none of the pieces have broken.
My one complaint: it requires, but DOES NOT INCLUDE, 9 AAA and 3 button cell (AG13) batteries. Fortunately, I had them ready to hand. I suggest if you give this as a gift, include the batteries. Button cells can cost a couple of bucks each at the hardware store, but you can get a 50-pack of button cells here at Amazon for $[...].50 of AG13/357A Alkaline Button Cell Watch Battery
Customer Review: Love the workshop and love to hear my little boys laughing and playing together! Summary: 5 Stars
We got this from Santa and it was a huge hit! There is enough "stuff" to keep my 4 and 2 year old sons busy for the long haul. They share with each other because there is plenty to see and do. Santa did happen to preassemble this one ahead of time, so that helped as far as having the correct batteries. We have it in a little makeshift "fort" the boys have created with their Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Home...that Santa brought last year. They have incorporated both toys very nicely, and wear the Tonka hard hats from their dump trucks.
We've noticed the work light won't turn off completely. It is either a high beam or dim light. Other than that, we would buy this all over again.
Customer Review: My Son Loves This Toy! Summary: 5 Stars
My Parents bought this for my eldest sons second birthday. he LOVES the tools and he loves being just like daddy when Daddy does something around the house. it was easy to assemble and I have a lot of fun playing it with him. he loves to race the bonus car around the house saying "VROOM VROOM" at the top of his lungs. this is the PERFECT toy. he gets frustrated with the screws sometimes but he'll get it eventually. he loves the power drill that comes with it as well and has cause us to have to rewind movies or tv shows we've been watching cause he insists in using the drill right in front of the TV. All in all it's a GREAT buy!
Customer Review: The Ultimate Cool Toy Summary: 5 Stars
Being a car guy I flipped when I saw this toy. My 3 year old son has dropped everything and has spent all his time taking the valve cover, supercharger, and various car parts off. Putting it together was literaly a snap. Yes it does take non-typical batteries and a lot of them, but with so many noise/light making tools, that was not a problem for me. Though we've only had this a couple days, the quality of this product seems high, especially after putting together one of those ultra-flimsy "bubble plastic" Kitchen sets. Definitely one of the best toys at this price I've ever seen. 4 thumbs up!
Customer Review: Little Tykes 2 in 1 Buildin' to Learn Summary: 4 Stars
When I saw this on the internet I knew I had to have it. Love the product and the verstility. The ONLY complaint I have is that on the outside of the box there is NO listing of the type of batteries you need. I assumed, and we know what that does, that it would need several AA Batteries. Not a chance. So on Christmas morning, we opened the box from Santa and all of the tools excluding one take AAA's the light takes (3) LR44's. Stat trip to the local Walgreens!!! Other than that the boys 4 and 5 LOVE it!!! Just better labelling would help and I hope that this helps someone!!
