Toys and Games Reviews of Lucky DucksCustomer Review: Terrific Fun for The Youngest Gamers Summary: 5 StarsThis is a great game for the really young kids (two and three-year olds) who want to be part of your family game night. Bright yellow duckies "swim" around in a circle on a little plastic pond while the game emits a loud (and non-stop) quacking chorus. Each duck has a red- green- blue- or yellow-colored sticker on his "underneath" so the child chooses up a duck as it passes, and checks the color of the sticker. If the child has a blue card and picks up a blue duck, she places the duck on her card. If it's not a match, the child places the duck back on the pond (fun too as all the other little duckies are still squaking and swimming). The first child to get three matches wins.I give four stars for educational value because this is a fun way to teach two and three year olds very basic gaming skills -- like taking turns, losing gracefully (well, with the three year old set winning with grace can be a work-in-progress too!)and playing fairly. This game is also good for very elementary strategy skills like remembering which duck you've already picked up and trying to look at the sticker color on the duck without letting anyone else get a peek. The game is incredibly durable -- ours had very heavy use the first few years (my then-three year old used to love to just lay on the floor and watch the duckies go around without even playing the game). Though my kids are older now, they love to get this game out when we have younger visiters.
Customer Review: Lucky for us!! Summary: 5 StarsMy daughter is 2 1/2 yrs. old and she first played with this game at Sunday school. Every week she runs to where the game is and takes it out to play with it. She constantly asks for it at our house. I bought it for her for Christmas. She loves it so much she even remembers to ask Santa for it when we go see him. She loves playing with all the ducks, picking them up as they move and matching them to the colors. I ordered this over amazon.com and got it within a week! I can't wait to see her eyes when she opens the game!!!
Customer Review: It's too loud Summary: 4 StarsMy son loves the game--but he is even bothered by the noise! It's entirely too loud. If you and your child can stand the noise--it is a really fun game. It's better suited for 3 and under.
Customer Review: Ducky fun Summary: 5 StarsKids love this game! Quaking is loud but kids love it. I discovered you can elimate the quacking by removing one of the batteries! A classic preschool game. A must have!
Customer Review: Make the quacking stop!!! Summary: 5 StarsKids absolutely adore this game--it's noisy, it moves, adults act like they are in pain when it comes out--it has all the best elements. The color matching element is probably educational for very small children, but really, I think the noise is what sells it....
