This is a great toy. We bought it for our 2 year old and she loves it. Granted, she doesn't quite understand to ROLL the ball and just holds it in her hands and knocks the pins down. She also enjoys just playing with the pins and shaking the balls around. We also "invented" a game where I place each bowling pin around the house in various location (in plain view for a 2 year old) and she runs around laughing and shrieking with the ball to go "find" all the pins and knock them down. With a younger child this is going to be an interactive toy. Don't expect your 2 year old to be able to set up bowling pins and then roll the ball and knock them down. You will have to set the pins up for your child (or at least help your child) and then supervise with the ball to make sure the hard plastic doesn't get thrown or smashed into anything around the house. This is not a toy I'd just dump on the floor and let my 2 year old play with due to both developmental need for help as well as the hard plastic on the ball. I still give this toy a 5 star rating because the toy is still a good time with even a younger toddler as an interactive, superivised activity. And there is definitely room to grow into the toy to where an older toddler/child can use it more on their own.Customer Review: Great Fun

My son received this bowling set for Christmas (just turned 1). He enjoys it.It's a bowling set and the Little Tikes brand - so you would expect it to be durable - and it is!
What I have found with other less-expensive bowling sets I've seen is that the plastic is too lightweight that they barely stand up on their own before you have a chance to actually knock them down with the bowling ball.
The skittles in this set doesn't have that problem. They are sturdy enough to stand properly until they are knocked over by the ball or a children's hand. The added fun is the noise they make when they fall down - each skittle has 3 small balls inside producing a great clanking sound.
The added fun of this is that my son picks two skittles up and bangs them together or just shakes them and makes music.
The bowling ball is lightweight for children but heavy enough that it's going to go where you roll it and not be pushed around by any breeze (if you are outside). There are small finger indents so you can teach your child how to "bowl" when they are ready to do so.
A great inexpensive set for your little one.

One word really describes this toy, "WOW"!!! I think I have a future pro bowler on my hands. I had a general idea that my four year old would like it but he loves it! The great thing about this set is that it's not just a bowling set, the bowling pins can also be turned into "musical toys", counting devices, or you could set them up as "cones" and have your child weave in and out of them with their bike or skip around them to improve their motor skills.
I wish I would have bought this sooner but being a stay at home mom we have to pick and choose our toys. This was a great value and many thanks to Amazon for having speedy shipping! It came a day earlier than expected which was a delightful surprise. We will order more things from this site. They keep you updated on your order and so far I've had the best online shopping experience with them verses other online shopping sites.
If you are trying to decide between this toy and another, I'd pick this one hands down. I hope this has helped any future buyers.

My son took to bowling around 2 yrs. old so when I saw this set at the toy store I decided to get it. All I have to say is that he is almost 5 yrs. old and he still plays with it! The set is very durable and when the pins are struck, it mimics the sound you hear at the bowling alley...which is part of the fun. However, just keep in mind that it can get loud. My son loves going to the bowling alley and is very into anything bowling related. If, however, your child is not that interested in the sport then maybe it will not hold their interest for long...that's up to you to figure out. In our experience, it has been well worth the money because of all the toys he has owned these past few years, this is the one he still ends up going back to.Customer Review: great but ...

This is a wonderful toy. The pins are really durable, almost incomparable to other bowling toys, and they make a satisfying sound when hit. My boy calls it a "ten pin bowling sound." He is four, but my two year old loves it as well.
The only reason I give it four stars is that previous versions of the game had a nice stand on which to set up the pins. It meant you could use it on rough terrain, and also even little kids could make a triangle. In fact, although the pins are great in themselves, the stand was a major feature. It seems Little Tikes stopped making these which is an awful blunder and should be punished. Buy an old version on ebay instad.
