We bought this for our 27 month old granddaughter for Christmas.
We decided on this toy because Kiersten does enjoy going shopping with her parents or with us.Kiersten's Mom(who is not mechanically inclined)put this cart together yesterday afternoon with little trouble.We ordered this cart from
JC Penney's and it also had several plastic toy grocery items included.Kiersten played with this for several hours nonstop yesterday.We like this toy because it needs no batteries,has no loud annoying sounds and lets a child use their imagination.It is hard to rate its durability after only 2 days of play,but it appears to be rather sturdy.

My son always played with the older model Little Tikes shopping cart, and since there was one at school, in the grocery, and at play group, I never bought one. Now I am so sorry! This "improved" design reminds me of New Coke. Without realizing the design had changed, I got one for my daughter's birthday and she immediately filled it with toys and dolls, gave it a push and went flying over the top of it as it went down front first. My Dad could not understand why I had wanted this toy. This is a terrible toy, he said--it was then I realized it was new design. I am returning it and will buy a copy of the old Little Tikes cart from KB toys.Customer Review: Shopping Cart Disappointment

I searched everywhere for what I thought would be a durable, safe, and fun shopping cart. I finally found one in the Little Tikes Shopping Cart and I ordered it. It is great fun. My children love to push it around. There is a place to put a doll just like on the shopping carts at the store. However, the blue wheels on the cart refuse to stay on. No matter what we do there is always one or more falling off. We have tried to contact Little Tikes to send a replacement, but there is a ridiculous wait to speak to someone or they just say to call back later. Very disappointing. I had been looking for a shopping cart for my 'almost' 2 year old daughter for Christmas - and when I came across this one I immediately got it! It is absolutely perfect...
My daughter has had SO much fun playing with this shopping cart. She puts her babies in the front (huge bonus for her because she LOVES to play "mommy"), pushes them around while buying her groceries and then will unpack all of her groceries back into her kitchen once she has bought them!
This is a wonderful shopping cart. it is nice and sturdy - and MUCH bigger than I had expected! I am sure it will last for MANY years!!!

We got this shopping cart for Christmas and it has been a big hit! All 3 of my kids, ages 5, 3, and 1, have loved this. My 1 year old walks it around like it's a walker and has helped him learn to walk. My 3 year old and 5 year old take this all over the house and go shopping all day long. The basket is very well built and holds all of their toys. The cart has a place on the front to put their babies and they love that feature since they see me always putting my baby boy in shopping carts at the store. This toy has been played with every single day since Christmas and I can tell it will be enjoyed for years to come.
